I had a great time, and did a lot of riding. Just under 1000 miles, and only about 100 of those on the interstate.

I took 4 pictures on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and that was the extent of my photography.

Here is where Chew and I were almost blasted off of the earth by a Jeep.

And here is the other that is worth posting.

Saturday was one of the best days that I have had on the bike, ever. And good Italian food to finish it off. :D

Was Camfarm in on the Italian food?

Looks like a great weekend. Makes we realize how much I need to throw the tent on the back and go for a ride.

What did you fix for breakfast Brian? I have the Jetboil system and other than oatmeal, I've not found another hot breakfast food that is worth the hassle on an extended camping trip. Thanks.

Looks like a packet of oatmeal on the table, to me. Maybe maple flavor.

I saw that. Maple/brown sugar is my favorite. I just wondered if there was something more he was cooking up in that pot. :-k

NoRRmad was spot on, Maple Brown Sugar instant Quaker oatmeal...yummy.

That's just water boiling up in the pot. I haven't done a lot of cooking while I camp. I rehydrated one of those Mountain House Chili Mac meals in a bag on Thursday night. It wasn't too bad. I wrapped in my sleeping bag while waiting for it to hydrate and it was still steaming hot 15 minutes later.

16oz of water is perfect for a cup of hot chocolate, oatmeal, and little cleanup water.

Someday I'd like to get a Jet-Boil. Don't know if I'll ever move beyond just heating up water.

No camfarm on this one. Maybe he brings the rain John? Although, Vann and I did get wet riding into Burke's Garden on Friday.

The list of guys that didn't get to attend is almost as long as the list of those who did. We managed to snag all 11 sites in loop C and had the run of the place...finally!

Thanks to all for allowing a temporarily beemerless guy to join in the fun.

I wasn't exactly overjoyed to provide an opportunity for the guys to exercise their mechanical expertise in repairing a broken clutch lever. A new lever and a spare are currently on order.

So far my ride home cost me a dinner, and a day at the health spa for the wife.

Daryl,
The tip is to get backpacking tents, and a waterproof bag. All of the backpacking gear packs pretty small.

Hey Vann,

I noticed your bike's name "Traveller" is spelled with a double "L". Great name, great ride.
Behold that horse! A dappled gray!
I saw him in the month of May,
When wild flowers bloomed about his feet,
And sunshine was his mantle meet.

The shapely head he held up high,
And fire seemed flashing from his eye;
Arched grandly, too, his neck and mane,
And on them fell the slackened rein.

Down from the withers to the tail
The curve was perfect in detail,
While depth of chest, and haunch, and side,
Showed where his strength did most reside.

With limb, and hoof, and pastern small,
The body round and plump withal,
No pattern could be perfecter
Than was the form of "Traveller."

Rare model for an artist's skill!
For brush, or chisel, or for quill!
For there, with muscles strained and tense,
His mould was sheer magnificence.

Bucephalus was not more gay
In ancient battle's stern array,
Than was that grand Virginia gray,
That mutely champed his bits that day.

A day of battle, truly, then!
A day of death to many men!
For war a gory drama played
But "Traveller" was undismayed...
I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...

iowabeakster - I assume the poem (nice BTW) is about my bike's namesake. Robert E. Lee's steed! This is the 2nd Traveller I have owned. One Shadowfax also! ;)

I did not keep my K75 long enough nor develop enough affection for it to name it.
