Where's the oil pressure sender?

Post by macx »

Riding weather is mostly over in the midwest, time to start tinkering & upgrading!

Am exploring the possibility of an oil pressure gauge, but where to put the sender?

There must be a sender for the idio light, but -

Can't find it in my service manual or in the parts fiche in A&S, or by Searching.

Here's a link to a schematic of the oil pressure & cooling galleys
but even that doesn't exactly lead me right to it

Thanks to anybody that knows!

I believe it's on the top of the engine, under the tank, and just behind the right side of the alternator.

Thank you Al!

I'll have a look in that area while I'm doing my tinkering this winter.

Macx,

Now I'm having second thoughts about the location. The oil temperature sensor on the RT is located on the top right of the engine, but I'm not sure about the pressure sensor. Might want to wait on other replies.

Look just above and slightly behind the oil level site glass window on the left side.

Yes, I'm afraid by looking at the oil pressure galley schematic, it looks
like the highest pressure galley in the block is about even with the crank.

The pres. sender is about at the 2 o'clock position from the oil sight glass.

Great, Pete ! I knew someone was going to help me. I need a new rear tire for my RR. If you don't have a tire, PayPal would work fine for me. I can get it with free shipping from Motorcycle Superstore. It's a 170/60ZR.
I don't get caught in the rain, I ride in it on purpose.
