F800GS seat surgery

I decided to try and make my ass a little happier and dish out the stock seat. Here's a link to my posting on ADV. All in all, I'd call it a success. Try it!

did you do the standing pad mod? and what does it look like with the upholstery back on? Did it conform to the new seat shape or are there pockets of air? Since the foam is tacky (from your description) does the upholstery just stick down on its own?

I must be one of the few that find the seat just fine on my roadster, though after 70k miles it is becoming a little less so, but only a little.

Sorry John - obviously I haven't been back here for awhile...

I don't know what the "standing pad mod" is. The cover is stretchy (not sticky), so even with the material significantly reduced underneath, the fabric still pulls taut and looks fine.
