converting k1200r sport to k1200r

hi all,
is this possible? can i just remove the sport fairing to get the look of the r?
why i wanna do this? locally there is a kr sport for sale. it's $1000 cheaper and fewer miles than another kr. but i really like how the kr looks without the sport fairing.
