Rub it in! Its been too icy here to do much of anything ... day heats up to 38-40 and then freezes with black ice all over the place. Hope all is well with you and Nancy? I need to stop being too busy; call and catch up.

Re: The R1200R Photo Discussion Thread!
One of my rides from my home town, Queenstown, New Zealand, this road is the Glenorchy Road, one way in 40min of riding approx. and back out the same. The lake is called Lake Wakatipu...our summer is finally shaping up to be okay after a poor start over Xmas. 26 deg Celius yesterday
This is my 2007 r1200r, I've owned it since last August, I bought it with 25,000kms on it, it now has 40,000kms. I also have a f800s which I liked as well, but its for sale and I like this just as much...if I could afford to keep the s I would.

snow play day.... (if spring won't come, then I will just have to play in the snow).. it was fun..but I was so excited about trying this out that I forgot to let air out of the tires... which would have made things way easier.. oh well.. I still had fun...
Recently also got new tires (scorpion trails) ..loving them so far

+1. They're really fantastic on the street and have a nice tread pattern for gravel and light offroad. I traded in my R1200R with a set on, but already had my replacement rear purchased, so it'll be getting spooned on to the R NineT. Really fantastic all round tire and they wear well.Recently also got new tires (scorpion trails) ..loving them so far
Good to see you out in the snow Some times you just gotta ride!

Karamazov - How did the mileage compare with the PR3s?
Joe - Do you feel like your giving away anything with the telescopic front end over the telelever??

I ran Scorpion Trails to Alaska on my R1200R. They were okay on dirt but nothing special and I got very poor mileage on them. At 5200 miles I was showing cord and still had 300 miles to go to get home. There is a great deal of chip seal in BC and Alaska. I'm running Dulop 616s now. They are certainly better off pavement; as to mileage we will have to wait and see.

To sum it up - goodbye telelever, it was nice knowing you, we had a great time together but you won't be missed at all.
Far superior handling around, better feel and feedback in the corners, comfy on highways if not but a bit stiffer. Very minimal fork dive when braking hard, certainly nothing that upsets the balance of the bike like on a f800gs. It handles so good out of the box I won't even bother upgrading the suspension until I wear it out.
I don't see the forks being anything that someone should base their decision on whether this is the bike for them. Seating position, luggage options, pillion comfort, and windscreens are something more for folks to consider if they were thinking about trading in their 12R for one IMHO of course. For me there's no looking back, Nancy loves riding her new R1200R, I'm VERY happy with the nineT.
I'm going to put some thoughts in the nine section soon.

Coming off a well set up Guzzi my immediate reaction to my R1200R when it was new was a vagueness in the turns when it was pushed hard but I quickly got used to it. I figure you were the perfect guy to have a knowledgeable opinion.
