FUEL REGULATOR FOR R11r
Greetings All, My 2000 R11r at 93,000 miles needs a fuel regulator. I located one on E-Bay. The Clymer manual suggests that the transmission must be dropped to install it! Is this true? I would like to take this work on myself and the degree of complexity involved will determine if it's "Me or the shop", and I charge much less than the shop! All information will be appreciated. Thanks, good riding, jw
Re: FUEL REGULATOR FOR R11r
Nope! The Clymer lies (there's a surprise)
If you snip all the cable ties on the rear sub frame, remove the abs unit and battery tray and 4 bolts from the sub frame you can pivot it up and get the airbox out. The clymer also says you can remove the battery tray without disconnecting the abs... Guess what it lies. Wtatch out for the rigid brake line running down to the rear from the abs its bolted to the gearbox. DAMHIK!
