Only 2 I really know about are the OEM BMW Gel, and the Odyssey.

The Odyssey has a strong following, priced less than the OEM.

Mine has the Odyssey. Not cheap when fitted by the local BMW dealer. I bought an Optimate 4 battery tender to look after it- connected unless I leave home on holiday/vacation. Seems still ok after 4 years and cranks my engine filled with semi synthetic 20w/50 oil.

JoeStaskerz,
Here is a quick StartPage search of where I also bought M/C batteries from, with the Odyssey PC680 being the best choice for power/price/longevity. It costs $109.95 with Free Ground Shipping!

My Odyssey battery is over 10 years old and it has not received the TLC it deserves. I have let it discharge several times, and in particular when I went overseas for 1 year and the bike was barely touched. Two or three times per winter, I plug it into a cheap Chinese trickle-charger and yet the battery still loves me.

Kinda late for this topic, but I've used these two batteries and seems to last as long as an Odyssey battery here in Phoenix .

I've got these Gruber batteries in all of my bikes, put two in the R for winter starting .
