Screeching sound while the bike starts moving cold

Hello

The R1100R has been a dream all summer!
But laterly I've noiticed strange screeching sound when I start riding, nothing unusual happes when I start the bike but, sound comes when motorcycle starts moving. Lasts about 5-10 meters and then goes off. It seems to happen when the bike is cold. At first I thought it might be front shimmers getting old but they seem to be fine. The sound seems to come from right cylinder/gearbox?It doesn't seems to affect driving any way tho.

Anyone else has faced same issue?

Don't recall this when I had my R1100R, however have you noticed any change in the amount of pressure it takes to actuate the clutch - I'm wondering if it is clutch groan and it needs the clutch splines lubed

I get a similar groan on my current Stelvio occasionally on cool dampish days

The issue was loose alternator belt - recently (2500km ago) changed by local dealer, but since they are "professionals" and there was no such sound at the beginning, i didn't suspect that.

Credits to Chris Harris who helped me out.

Good job in finding the fix. The belt only screeches for a few seconds because just after start-up the battery is asking for maximum alternator output and a cold/loose belt will slip until the sliding/slipping friction warms it up, right about the same time as the need for full alternator output slowly tapers away from full charging output (and torque required).
