Headlights

A bit off topic, but motorcycle related .
I've got an '87 Guzzi V65 Lario, two handlebar switches gave up in July of this year, parked the bike until cooler weather .
November now, cooler and I'm on vacation for 6 weeks, time to fix this .
There are no OEM switches available and the aftermarket combination switches won't fit, due to no room on he handle bars, they are like clip-ons, but factory original .
I decided to put three switches, one for tail light/ running light under the headlight / indicator internal lighting, one for high beam and for low beam in a plastic box on the left side of the small fairing .
Got a plastic project box and got the switches mounted, got done yesterday and all the lights work now !!!
So, my question, has anyone used low and high beam on at the same time during daytime riding ????
My concern, would be overheating the headlight glass and possibly damaging / cracking it .
I'm using PIAA Super white 55/60w headlight bulb .
There's a voltmeter on the instrument cluster and it doesn't show much more load if both are on, or just one in use .

What would I know about Guzzi's.
At one time Guzzi guys were using Kawasaki handlebar controls to replace the ones on their bikes. The Larios's were kind of rare even when they were new. Maybe going to the Lario Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/MotoGuzziLario/) or Guzzitech (http://www.guzzitech.com/) would turn up someone that could hook you with a replacement.

The Lario was and is a sought after model, seems a shame to hang strange (I'm trying to be kind) wiring on it.

To your question. The R1200R is wired to burn both bulbs in the high beam position and it doesn't present a problem with the plastic housing or lens. I'd be surprised if you would find someone that actually wired a Guzzi like that on this forum. Consider joining MGNOC (http://www.mgnoc.com/) to get in touch with other Goose owners.
