Anybody else preorder the Mudsling rear fender guard?

Placed my order yesterday for MachineartMoto's rear suspension guard for the R12R LC. Looks like it will be a nice addition to our LC's. Although it is another head shaker why BMW did not provide more coverage for the ESA unit and shock. At least the old R had a large flap that did the trick.

Maybe they a just being considerate of the aftermarket economy and helping small companies provide goods and employment. It is after all a global economy. :D

I ordered mine. Loved the one on my 08 and now have it for sale.

I bought one for my 2008 R12R, but haven't ordered one yet for my new bike. Not sure I will, not because it isn't a nice item, it is, but because I am only riding 7,000 miles/year these days and believe the unprotected suspension will outlast me.

There's an alternative to the Mudsling if price is an issue.
I've just ordered the Wunderlich Splash Guard which is a very similar product but a whole lot cheaper over here in the UK. Current conversion to US$ is 189$ for Mudsling and 88$ for Wunderlich part.

that's interesting. the wunderlich product is a virtual copy and costs $129 US, which is the same cost for the machineart product. maybe i'm looking at the wrong wunderlich product? part # 41590202?

when did the exchange rate between euro and dollars become that different?

nice to have other options. I'm happy with my choice and its great to have competition to keep price down.

I wont, I paid a big amount for a High Tech BMW and wont fit a part like Mudsling with Ti-rips on my nice Bike.....
So I fitted the Puig rearwheel cover with bolts.

good for you. the puig is twice the price and covers the rear wheel which in my opinion takes away from the open, single sided swingarm look of the R.
