Will an R1100GS Front end mount to an R1100R?

I'm looking to get some extra fork travel on my R1100R and move up from a 17" wheel to a 19" wheel. Simplest solution seems to be to get the front end set up(forks, triple tree, wheel) off an R1100GS. Has anyone done it? Is it a simple bolt on swap or is there a complication I should know about?

To my knowledge the fork would be the same. What is different is the front A arm and the front damper. You also need to change the rear damper otherwise your geometrie will be out of sync.

I think(not sure) the front fork on a GS is different because the bridge has to be higher up to clear the 19" wheel. The bridge on the R1100R will barely tolerate an 18" with the front fender removed. It might be necessary to use a GS telelever as well since a higher bridge means a longer distance. When you say "damper" are you referring to the shocks?

Yes, damper = shocks ... And yes you are right, the lower fork bridge is also different and you need to take the one from the GS.
