My 2006 windshield is milky
Should I leave it alone or any suggestions on restoring it?

While the domain here is r1150r.org, you've posted (within that domain) on an R1200R forum for Hexheads, made from 2007-2010. So we're confused.
You're not clear about what bike the shield you have is mounted to, or what windshield you might have. Maybe the bike's a BMW, maybe an unfaired one like an 1150R. If I were energetic, I'd search on realoem.com for a 2002 BMW 1150R, to see if there's a windshield shown in the BMW parts fiche that relates to your "37, 540" number. Having a part number might help us know what the shield is, and thus what it's made out of, and thus how it might be restored.
If the shield is on an R1150R, posting on the specific forum for R1150R machines here: viewforum.php?f=2 might generate more knowledgeable replies.
