Looking for an R12R - Los Angeles

Since my son lives there.. I was thinking of getting a bike for California so I don't have to ride there (it's a chore - but someone's gotta do it.. but Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas have gotten old now..)

So I figured another R12R. If anyone knows of a relatively inexpensive one (under $5k..) miles not important, must have ABS though, be nice do have DSC. Bags - optional. Let me know.. I don't care about color, I care more about service records.

Good plan.

Doesn't have to be LA...you could buy a bike in any big city (read: one with a decent air connection from NJ) from which you're willing to *ride* to LA. Including markets in the Bay Area, PHX, maybe even SLC, Portland, and Seattle would increase the liklihood of finding a good one.

Don,

More than your 5k limit, but otherwise meets your criteria. 42,000 mi, one owner, dealer serviced and tasteful accessories. Ohlins installed at 18,000 mi. Fuel strip (#9 ?) is inop. Roadtec 01 tires with 3,500 mi. OEM touring windscreen should be included.

Alex - thanks. As you said - breaks my $5k limit by a bit (50%).. and it's the special model with the dumb-ass (my opinion) spoke wheels with tubes. The spoke rims just don't do it for me, and finding good R1200R rims used isn't easy at all (since I've bent two front rims so far, I'm somewhat experienced in that search..) Brand new rims add about $2000 to the price, although I guess the spoke ones have some value.
