About to Purchase a 2003 R1150R - Advice/Question

I did a bunch of research and found a great deal on a 2003 R1150R with 18k miles. Checked it out yesterday. It's extremely clean and it rides and runs well. I'll most likely be finalizing the deal on Saturday and would love any suggestions what to check for before I pull the trigger.
Question:
At the dealer yesterday, the salesman pushed it out of the showroom floor spot it was sitting on and I noticed a bit of oil or oily looking fluid on the floor. I asked him about it and he said that those bikes tend to do that. Is he correct? If not, what should I check into?
I looked through the forum for discussion on oil leaks, but there are too many to check out. Since I don't have the bike in front of me, I can only speculate as to where that originates. Since I am not familiar with the R1150R yet, I thought to ask here.
