are two ways to donate:
1.

want to use a Paypal balance.
(This
saves me a $3 transaction fee which is attached to credit-based PayPal
transactions)
2.
Pay online with a credit card. This method uses PayPal, but a PayPal

The
Long Version:
To
register and talk in the forums, you do not have to donate. However, if
you are interested in becoming a R1150R.net member and supporting the
site, you can donate. The standard donation is twenty dollars for a one-year
membership. Donating sixty dollars will grant you a lifetime membership
so you dont have to worry about renewing! A donation of $200 on top of any lifer status will add your very own email address@r1150r.net, if desired. This will be forwarded
to your current email address, so you can use it for your "spam"
gathering email (when it starts to get a lot of spam, just let me know
and I can change the email name). Email addresses @r1150r.net do require a $20 maintenance fee every year, which is waived if the member continues to donate beyond lifer for that year.
If you would like to use PayPal,
please use the email address: doug@r1150r.net as the "Send
Payment To" email address. (If you are using
a checking account or a PayPal balance to send funds, please use my doug@albany.net
address - this saves me a few bucks in transaction fees.)
If you cant use PayPal, feel free to use a credit card via the above
"Make a Donation" button. If you have one, please include your
forum nickname in your note so I know who to assign member privs to!
What Do
Members Get?
Members will
be given member numbers, and have special access to the Member's Section
and Pat's section to voice their opinion on the site and suggest changes/additions
as they see necessary. I very closely monitor the members section, so
if you want me to read something, its best done in there. Occasionally,
I will post a vote on certain site additions/changes or topics that arise.
Most of the great things on this site are a result of member input!
Why
Donate?
The donations are applied to the site to maintain it and pay for various
fees. The fees involved in keeping a site like this alive are: Base ISP
costs and bandwidth usage, url and email forwardings, member mailings,
additional server space, and some programming and design tools that need
to be purchased to create and maintain the site.
It should be noted that I do not intend to get rich off of this site.
I only want to ensure that it does not become a money pit for me. I donate
my free time to creating, updating and monitoring this site because I
really enjoy the R1150R community that we have here and want a place for
other enthusiasts to share information and ask questions. This site has
grown to be the premier site for R1150R enthusiasts on the net, thanks
to the support of the members and people who share their knowledge. I
think of this site as one for the community, supported by the community!
