they're worth it, as long as you lower your exhaust. the left bag with the big cutout for the muffler is dopey. it's better to have a full bag there. it wasnt worth it for me to get the bmw top case though. i wanted more capacity for long trips, so i went with a givi top case. the thing swallows hel...

austin PD is going BMW. the cops look way cooler on RTs than they do on harleys and kawasakis.

i think theyre happy so far, theyve been gradually converting bikes, so that if there was a problem with the BMW, they'd find it before totally changing over to it.

i'd like to add to my earlier comments: i took the MSF course before i even started looking for a bike to buy. if youre a newbie rider, take a good training course (~2 days of time, mix of classroom and riding.) another important thing when deciding to become a rider is to honestly assess how defens...

the r1150r was (is!) my first bike. i'm 6' and no body builder. no scratches, no problems (i'm prolly jinxing myself) and i've been very happy.

do what feels right, trust your gut.

Did you use the 1 3/4" or 3" arm with your ubolt? Thanks.

i'll have to look, but i think i have the 3" one. it's not that long, and i have it clamped to the bars off to the side, then it comes over laterally to sit where it does.

here's a vote for the garmin 2610. i've got it on a ram mount. screen is easy to read, touchscreen is handy, i can hold the entire US and canada on it with a 2GB card ($100) and the way it mounts it integrates well with the rest of my instrument cluster, and doesnt stick out too far or screw up (wha...

i use a set-up similar to a few posted here, but recently added the final piece. i listen to an ipod. i've got the etymotic ER6i earbuds. (they are amazing. at 80mph, i can keep the volume way low, and still hear details in the music.) i added a grffin air click remote. http://www.griffintechnology....

another data point for you - i use the sargent saddle with the passenger seat with no issues. it can feel a little tight when installing the seats, but it goes (and stays) together with no problem. looks fine too.

my sargent seat allowed me to forget ass-pain, and focus on knee pain. :D
