European Tour advise and comment please
hi guys, I am embarking on a tour of France , Italy, Germany and Holland. I will be planning this over the next 18 months. Having not had the opportunity to travel to these parts and so would welcome comment and advice from those who had toured there, those that may reside there or those that are pe...

Continental road attack's
Fitted the road attacks to the 'R' 3 weeks ago.... how on earth had I manage up until now?
I've done the tight and twisties wet and dry and I've never felt so secure before.
These are gonna take some beating.
Anyone else tried them?

hi pj, I experience the same thing, I've put it down to 2 things, firstly, first gear feels like second gear compared to my last bike, and secondly, if you're like me, my last bike was a big torqueee jap 4 that could move of the mark in top gear, fully loaded.(minor exaggeration) So I've adapted.......

1) Valves and throttle bodies are out of sync. Both of these procedures must be done correctly to reduce and/or eliminate surging. In my opinion, as a 2002 single spark owner, having also come from the ultra smooth jap four, the throttle body/cables iswhere it's at> This forum alerted me to the the...

Yeah DJ, the top box does look big and heavy, but you don't know it's there untill you want a sandwitch. I was just idling along at about 40kph,it was like ice, a small car tyre rut and next minute the back wheel was where the front wheel should be, spun 180. Standing up was hard enough on that stuf...

With roads like these!!
It is hard to stop and take photos as has been mentioned by MIXR, some times it's just plain hard to stop, as was the case when I ventured off the hard top to a gravel road that slowly deteriated to patchy clay and grit, that's wet clay and grit by the way. Started off fine.. http://i17.photobucket....

I'd had that problem since new (2 1/2 yrs and 50,000km later), along with surging I thought that it was just the way it was!! My symptoms were: 1) surging at 3000rpm with light throttle load.(I had minimised it over the years) 2) engine stall during rapid braking (particularly around town). 3) engin...

Waikaremoana.... finally
It's taken me 30 odd years to get around to getting to this remote piece of real estate. I had 4 days up my sleeve and a brand new Givi V46 top box to try out. So with Pete in toe on his RT off we went in search of the great unknown. The trip north from Wellington (that's the capital of NZ) was via ...

I have used the Givi sports throw over panniers for a couple of years now and found them very good....so long as you pack your things in water proof plastic bags. reasonable price, reasonable performance. Last month I got a Givi 460 Top box...brilliant! I was unable to get a set of Givi hard pannier...

Untill I recently fitted a Givi 460, I mounted my Givi tankbag to the pillion seat. That was effective and unobtrusive, as a tankbag can be on the tank. I ride solo 90% of the time but I have just upgraded to the Top box over the back and system cases. That's what happens when your mate has an RT. G...
