That is correct. If your speedo is fast. If it is slow there would be more miles then those showing. I am good with the speedo being off. Beginning to look like it is endemic to the bike.

I tested at 20, 40, 60 and 70. It was right about 8 - 10 mph fast. Which is better then slow when it comes to potential speeding tickets LOL.

Price is very region dependent. I bought my 2004 r last year for 6500. ABS, system cases, high seat, and 13k miles with brand new tires. It seemed like a good deal. Truth is there does not seem to be a ton of these bikes out there. So if it grabs you, I would grab it.

I think the heat thing is more of a general good idea. If you are running synthetic in your tranny it won't be an issue. Synthetic handles heat very well.
