Re: New PIAA LED lights - and mounting
Don - I have an 07 12R and have been very unhappy with the Denali D2 lights I have been running. They don't do much for my illumination although I am probably more visible to oncoming traffic. I assume you would recommend the Hella FF50's again and if yes, do you know if they draw more power than th...

Re: Aux Lights
Driving lights - just spent the weekend in NH (cold) with my (2007) R12R and my Gerbings coat & gloves, Late season rides would not be so much fun without Gerbings. BUT, I really need better driving lights to brighten up the late night roads. I have Denali LEDs but they just don't do the trick, ...

Re: Tank Bag
I have a Cortech 14-Liter Magnetic Mount that I am selling. It sells new for $110 +/- is three years old and has two issues 1) no rain cover, lost on a highway, and 2) inside slip pocket is ripped. Otherwise in great shape. $50 [email protected]

Re: The Yellow Headlight
We change headlight bulbs for two reasons, to be seen better and to see better. The yelow bulbs are better for them to see you but are they better for you to better see the road?? Or is the bright white bulb better for that?

You will love the R12R! I recently traded my R1150R and could not be happier. So we are both victims of the test ride!

Re: Extended Cross Crountry Trip on the Newest R??
I traded my 02 R1150R in February for a 2007 R12R and I can't say enough about the R12R. It is lighter than the 1150 by 40 lbs and it puts out an additional 23hp. The handling is just wonderful, it takes the twisties like it is having a wet dream and it is good around town. I feel even more in contr...

Give me the boot/s - please
I have struggled to find the right road boot with a balance between safety and comfort/perfromance. I recenlty bought a pair of Setup boots (by SIDI) and ended up selling them after a few rides. Did not like them -- you can't really feel the shifter. Call me crazy but I like to feel the shifter over...

Re: 2002 R1150R gas mileage
I have a 2002 with 40k purchased March 2009. It is about the same as yours, a low of 34 around town but I get 40mpg when travelling. But I think with a little TLC it might be possible to increase that a bit (maybe 10%) - in my case the idle is a tad high and I may be dragging a rotor ever so slightl...

Tank Bag/s
Does anyone know if a Laguna Mini tank bag (retails around $110) will fit/adapt well on an 1150R ? If not - any recommendations without spending vast quantities of cash.

Re: ugh, just don't know what to get!! lol, so many decisions!
One good budget alternative is to go with Fieldsheer. I have a Hydro coat and the Apollo pants. The pant has a liner for wearing with shorts etc, and if you get it a bit on the big side you can wear it without the liner as an overpant. The coat is like the more expensive coats but with a bit less st...

Re: Atlanta Blue
To be very candid, as a new BMW owner in 2009, the color is the least important thing. I just love the ride, but continue to be confused as to why people ride other motorcycles when they could find the Ferro or the Atlanta Blue or black Rbike

Re: Low fuel warning light question
What are u all getting for mileage? I recently puchased my 2002 R1150R and it seems to get around 36mph. That brings the low fuel light warning on around 140 miles (225km). Does this seem about right ??

Tictac50 - thanks for the reality check on my 39k miles. And I can't help myself, after my first two tanks I must write this - this bike is unbelievable - a magnificent combination of muscle and tecnology but instead of waking the neighbors, it purrs like a kitten. What a GREAT ride!!

Re: Just looked at a 2002 R1150R
Just for comp purposes........I just purchased a 2002 r1150r with ABS, side and top bags, two windshields, brand new rubber, in great shape, well cared for (with service records) - only drawback is that miles are a bit high at 39k ....for $5,600.
