Re: Rolling Blackout!
I was having the same problem, my local tech took the assembly apart, cleaned it with contact cleaner & put it back together. It now works like a champ.

Re: R1100R Windshield Options
I tried a National Cycles F-16 (from JC Whitney - good return policy) and did not like it. I liked the way it looked , but the screen was very flimsy and I did not like the mounting system. It just did not seem to fit very well. I also tried the Givi A750 ( http://store.bobsbmw.com/index.asp?PageAct...

Re: Hand guard suggestions?
Try these, I got mine from Mortons BMW in VA for about $35 last year. Easy install they seem to work ok. I can email pics of them on my 01 R when I get home if you are intersested.

Re: National Cycle Windscreens
Well, I tried the F-16 touring shield. I pretty much decided to return it before it was mounted. The screen was very thin & flimsy and the mounting system left a lot to be desired. Not surprising considering it is a universal fit. It actually looked decent on the bike. It had a lot of vibration ...

Re: National Cycle Windscreens
I just sold a Cee Baileys screen, it was way too tall for me. I was looking through it instead of over it. I really didn't notice that much wind difference between that one and the stock screen. I ordered a National Cycles F-16 touring screen that should arrive this week. I will post my thoughts aft...

Re: National Cycle Windscreens
Emailed on guy who had one on a 2000 R11R & the only thing he said was it was somewhat cheap. No info on how well it performed.
I have not made up my mind yet, also considering a MRA Vario screen.

National Cycle Windscreens
Anyone ever tried one of the National Cycle F-15, F16 or F18 screens on an R11R? I have the stock touring screen with a laminar lip & I like it but I would like a smaller screen for the summer. Hopefully one without too much buffeting. I know they are different for everyone, but I would like to ...

Laminar lip
Just another opinion. I just installed a laminar lip on my 01 r1100r this weekend. I have only ridden it about 50 miles, but it has made a very noticable difference. I can now ride comfortably at 75 with my faceshield open. I can now hear the engine and exhaust (Remus) at highway speed. At this poin...

R1100R surging help - Tried throttle balance & valve adj
I am new to the board, even though I have already gotten advice a couple of times. I need a little diagnostic help. I have a 2001 R1100R with 11.5k miles, had it for about 2 weeks. I noticed slight surging on the trip home from the purchase (330 miles). I figured a throttle synch would take care of ...

New owner
I just bought a 2001 R1100R about 2 weeks ago. Black, 10.5k miles, Remus, system cases, chrome valve covers & mirrors, Cee Bailey screen, fantastic shape. ( Will post pics when I have access). Definately a cool bike, took a 300 mile ride this weekend including Skyline Drive in Virginia, did grea...

R1100R vs R1150R
They are both nice bikes. I like the styling of both, even though they are different. I would probably prefer the 1150, mainly for the model year improvements such as more power, 6-speed etc. But I am only willing to spend $xxx and there is a very limited selection out there that is in my price rang...

2001 R1100RL vs 2002 R1150R - How different are they?
I got to ride a 2002 RR this weekend (thanks Carlos) and definately liked it. However I have come across a 2001 R1100RL w/ low mileage and tons of accessories. Has anyone ridden both of these and can tell me what are the differences? I know the 2001 has 5 speed vs 6 speed, a little less power. Do th...

Help - Thinking of buying a R1150R
Hey everyone, I am new to the list and was looking for some help. I currently have a 97 F650ST and want to move up. So far the R1150R seems to be the best combo of looks & performance for what I want. I want something that I can do occasional 100-300 mile rides as well as short stuff around town...
