Re: Offset handle bar risers
I have the Touratechs and they look awesome but with my neck injury I'm still not back far enough... I was riding the other day and when I sat back with just my fingertips touching the bars I felt the most comfortable, not to mention that's the best my sargent seat felt too. I've thought about chang...

Re: Reliability
You know I love this web site you guys are a wealth of information and it's always great to hear others points of view, well until you jump off topic and start in on the computer debate, at which point I do have to jump on the Mac band wagon... =D> Heard back from BMW today and they are holding to t...

Re: Reliability
Hondas et al are wonderful machines, but they're machines. I have read many comments by Beemer owners who seem to think of their bikes as something more, more like friends and travelling partners. You wouldn't abandon a friend because they had a bad case of gas would you? No, you'd get them some Be...

Re: Reliability
I'm having the same fears at this moment. I picked up my R12R last year as a year old demo bike with 4k on it, I've have had the shop do all my required mantenance's and oil changes. Currently the bike only has 9500 miles on it and my warrenty ended Dec 30, '09. Last week I noticed a drip below my b...

Re: R1200R PHOT0 GALLERY
I'm going to try tipping back the whole thing (as mentioned elsewhere on this forum) and see if that improves it at all. When you do tip it back post how it works for you. I too have a 20" and am getting to much buffiting for my liking. Also let us know how you do it... :D Honestly riding with...

Re: The when of switching to synthetic engine oil
Dunno what opinion you want - but if it's stopped using oil and you want to use synthetic, no reason not to. As far as the valves sounding noisy - probably you couldn't hear them with the other pipe on it. If you do your own service - next valve adjust you could do the rocker-arm-endplay adjustment...

Re: The when of switching to synthetic engine oil
I'm @ about 9000 miles and still using dino oil, thinking about changing over since I'm not using much oil. My concern is I am noticing what I think is more vibration and noise than I'm use to from a bike (my first boxer motor). I can really hear my valves and above 3500-4000 I get (again what I per...

Re: Green motorcyles?
I'd love to own one to commute with!!! Now I think the Zero is butt ugly,,, and my R12R is one of the sexiest bikes out there (in my opinion :D ), now I do have to say the Suzuki version is a great looking bike. My only porblem is your paying about $10k for a bike with very limited range. Especially...

Question about the type of oil to use in my R12R???
I tried to do a search but I kept getting "too many links" error message so if there is a link to a good topic please send it. My question, are there other oils besides the BMW brand to use in our bikes? When you ask at the dealership they say "no" because of some additive in the...

Re: Ride and windshield swap test, Aurora CO???
Yes I tried the sport shield and didn't care for it. I also checked out the laminar Lip and didn't see anything to fit a Cee Baily's shield.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Ride and windshield swap test, Aurora CO???
I live in Aurora CO and am looking for others who would like to test out windshields. I just bought a Cee Baily's 20" and would like to try a BMW tall. I'm getting to much buffeting and am looking try other windshields before spending any more money. Also wouldn't mind trying a ZTechnik's, or w...

Re: Need help installing lights
gersh10, OK, back to your lighting job . . . you'll need to tap into the front pilot light's power wire to provide "key on" relay switched battery power to your driving lites, GPS and all other 12 Volt farkles you want to go "on/off" with the key. Here's my method: http://www.r1...
