This is the one I got for my R1150R http://www.ascycles.com/detail.aspx?ID=2000 I have standard size cases. The city cases are much narrower. This site list them by specific bike model.

Re: New Member
Motorcityrider, Welcome, I also own a 2003 and like it very much. I have not had it very long but enjoy it more each time I take it out. I have never owned a Sportster and would only own a Nightster if I did. I was wondering if you could compare your Sportster to your R1150R. I have never run across...

Re: Battery tray removal?
I got it out.
You do need to remove the "choke" cable and the throttle body cable on the left. There is a cable connection assembly that slides out from the right side of the battery tray and once you pull the cables through the battery tray will come all the way out.

Battery tray removal?
I have a 2003 R1150R and the battery tray is rusted and corroded by battery acid. I cleaned it all up but I thought I would remove the tray and paint it (or coat it) to stop the rust. The description for removal in the Clymer manual is simple enough but not correct for my bike. The battery tray in m...

Re: What is the secret?
I think I have lowered pegs which is making it even more difficult. I saw a post with a picture of peg lowering fixtures in the classified forum. It appears, that is what I have on this bike. It not only lowers the pegs but moves them forward and makes the problem worse. I am going to leave them for...

What is the secret?
I just purchased a 2003 R1150R. I am still finding my way around the bike but what is with the center stand. My center stand is almost impossible to deploy. What is the secret to getting your foot on the stand. I can not get my toe between the peg and the shift lever to get it to go down. I think I ...

Re: 2003 R1150R surging problem
Sweatmark, That is very good information. I can do a test ride and try to induce it. I do a lot of riding under those conditions. I live in an area with strict 25 mph speed limit for quite some distance. I have a F650 and ride in 2nd between 3K and 4k quite a bit. I was hoping an 1150 would do that ...

Re: 2003 R1150R surging problem
Snowprick, I did notice the coil on head arrangement on the 04. I guess each improvement brings a new set of risks and rewards.

2003 R1150R surging problem
I am new to the forum and looking to purchase a R1150R. I am looking at two bikes one is a 2003 single spark and the other is a 2004 dual spark. The 2003 has all the things I want and is the same price as the other bike. My concern is that single spark bikes are known to suffer from surging that was...
