Good luck to all of you finding the right sound. Again I remind you that John Q. Public may not share your taste in exhaust sounds and may develop an anti motorcycle attitude. Keep the decibels down please.

There are a lot more non-motorcyclists than there are of us. If we P** them off they can, and do pass laws that harm our sport. Common sense tells us that is unwise. The attitude "the hell with everybody else" is short sighted.

I like the quiet, stock system that came on the bike. It doesn't irritate the non-motorcycling public who equate loud pipes with rowdy behavior.

Kisan pathBlazer headlamp modulator

I just finished e-mailing Kisan about the error in their fitment chart for the headlamp modulator for our R1150R's. Their brochure, which the dealers use, lists the P115-H3 for the 2002 R1150R. This is incorrect. This bike uses a 3 prong connector to plug into the H4 bulb. Their modulator has 2 wire...

Mine has always done this "rattle" thing too, full throttle at about 4,000rpm. I can't buy the "carboned up" argument because of the fuel injection and tendency to run lean, not rich. If there is any carbon build-up it must be from burned motor oil, not fuel. I used to worry abou...

Thanks Chris. The color scheme#796 is not the paint code for Atlanta blue. The color code for Atlanta blue is indeed #306 as confirmed by my local paint store. I appreciate your help.

Paint code

I was told by my dealer that they no longer carry any paint, and that it has to be custom mixed. My local Dupont outlet doesn't list the factory color, Atlanta blue, #796 in their computer. Does anyone happen to know the Dupont paint code for Atlanta blue? Thanks

Mine did this. There was a factory problem with the smog cannister which was replaced under warranty. Check if your emissions warranty is still in effect, it is separate from the regular warranty in most states.

Not just in the Health Field. Labor charges in car and motorcycle repairs are done by a "flat rate" manual of average times to do a specific operation, in this case, change a gas tank. Operations that are included in the tank hange are: remove the seat, remove the oil coolers, disconnect t...

I would name the dealer and send him a copy of this letter. Why in he-- would they not put a new filter in when the tank is being replaced? They are definitely not looking out for you.

Thanks for the replies. It looks like a winter trip to Cycle Specialties for a fix. It took my independent mechanic lots of phone calls to finally find the Factory Technical Bulletin on the 1983 where BMW admitted a slight screwup with the diaphram clutch spring. I guess I'm still a little paranoidT...

2002 R1150R clutch slipping

My clutch appears to be slipping in the upper gears at around 5,000 rpm. I bought the bike used with 12,000 mikes on it and it has been ridden gently by me ever since. Now , at 25,000 miles I am having this problem where rev's shoot up immediately at higher rpms without the bike accellerating. My 19...

The fastest growing group of injured/killed motorcyclists are 40 something Harley riders. Their lack of training and those worthless cereal bowl helmets make them a pretty good bet to be organ donors. When their most pressing decisions are the style of their dress, who has the most chrome, and the l...
