http://www.torquenews.com/1/429-how-bmw-lead-royal-wedding-kate-middleton-and-prince-william An R1150RS instead of the latest R1200RT (or even the K GT). There's still a heck of a lot of service life left in our oilheads. It's not actually a R1150rs, it's a hybrid. A UK mag did a article a few year...

Re: Painting BMW system case lids?
Hi Cam, I have never painted the lids on my panniers, however I do build model cars, and am used to painting plastic with automotive paints. Automotive paints, (not sure what type BMW use), sometimes can react with the plastic or vice-versa, so it is always better to use a plastic primer with that t...

Re: Greetings + questions
Although I have a Rockster now I also had a 2002 R1150R and I like both bikes, both are fairly straightforward to work on although electrical gubbins can be a bit daunting for me, however this is a good site for all kinds of info on your bike. While I'm on, I also have a 850 Commando and there's a g...

Re: looking for pictures
Hi, you could try this link, it's a Rockster but it is in blue with white but the white could easily be changed for silver, I think it looks good.
Once on the page it is about 3/4 the way down.

Re: New to site and first bike
Nice and different.
Apart from losing a few lbs and changing it's looks, what difference would taking the original silencer off make, and does it sound a lot louder?

Re: ABS Failure - help please
Hi Matt, sorry to hear of your problem, I had the same thing and posted about it, , and there is an especially good article by Sweatmark it is well worth a read. If it is the dreaded ABS unit failure there are less expensive ways out of it. Good luck, and I hope it's something simple. http://www.r11...

Re: All known Edition 80 owners
I tried searching for Rockster but after 3 pages of "Show More" I gave up :-P Can you link to the group? It's this one: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=21251937968 That mid blue one about 1/2 way down the page is nice, if I didn't have an Ed. 80 I might have gone for a similar colour.

Could anybody who knows, or who has done the conversion please pass on their opinion on the performance, Thanks! In case you're interested in the conversion of R1150** Integral ABS bike to non-ABS, I have a topic thread over in the Rockster section: http://www.r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=3&...

Re: Brake problem ... Servo?
Hi Robert, how did you get on at the bmw garage. I`m asking as my abs including brakes dissappeared on me on saturday. I was lucky that nothing was on the junction that i went straight over. bmw should get sued for this. I`m going to get rid of the abs altogether as i dont think i can trust itagain...

You could also check the wee rubber bung that goes over the spigot on the underside of the throttle body that you would attach a vacumn gauge to, as the rubber deteriorates over time. Whilst cleaning my bike last week I knocked it off and noticed there was a slight split on it, not enough to cause a...

Re: Brake problem ... Servo?
[quote="iowabeakster"]Your brakes work for some amount of time, and then the warning comes on while riding, correct? A trip to the dealer, who can read the error code, is my only real suggestion. Yes they, work initially then light comes on and no power to the brakes. Also after fitting ne...

All fluid levels are fine, right up to levels. It's got to be something fairly simple, but what?AndyRR wrote:Make sure your fluid levels in the ABS unit are up. If it gets low, it'll do that.

Brake problem ... Servo?
Hi All, Reaching the end of my tether here; got my bike MOT'd last week , (2003 R1150R Rockster), last few yards from home the dreaded general warning light came on along with the flashing ABS light and little braking. Left the bike for a day and went to visit my mother after about 2 miles down the ...
