I would direct your question to the May 2009 BMWMOA magazine article penned by Paul Glaves. He discusses u-joints and their phasing when putting back together.
If you do not have access to that magazine or article I would post your question On the MOA oil heads forum.

Slowtorque,
What were you reffering to when you said to be vigilant about preload when changing rear tires?
thanks

Re: Who has an Aeroflow windscreen?
I have had the areoflow touring shield and tank wings for 4 years. They are great! When I first put the shield on I had bar backs in place. I didn't like the way the shield worked with the bar backs mainly due to tight cables and some what to the feel of the bar backs being pushed up and extra inch....

Valve stem hole size
I did a search on this topic and read lots of great stuff on metal valve stems written here. However I only came upon one person who said he thought the hole size for the R1150R was 11.3 mm. Would someone confirm this as the correct size for a replacement valve stem. I am interested in just putting ...

Best oline Tire source
Hello to all,
Suffering one of the worst winters in memory here in East Cental Illinois. Decided to go ahead with some tires for the spring. I will go back to Z6's this year. So if any of you have a favorite tire place, please shout out. Thanks

Re: Setting idle
I forgot to mention that the bike runs fairly good once warmed up. I have no clue how to check the TPS. If possible could someone provide a link to checking and or adjusting the TPS.
Thanks again.
Joe

Re: Setting idle
Thanks John,
I will continue to check things out.
Would it be advisable to take the throttle bodies off and clean them, or can that be done with out removing them from the bike?

Setting idle
Hello to all. I have a '04 RR with 25.6K, in a questionalbe state of tune. I have posted about recent surging issues recently and am still working to correct. I have recently found that when adjusting my idle I have a difficlut time keeping the manometer from floating. As I adjust it is now apparent...

Good dealer for service?
I would like to know if anyone has had first hand experience with BMW of Indianapolis. Specifically tune ups, service, communications with techs, etc. I lost my local dealership last Feb and I would like someone more skilled than I to tune my bike. I would also consider St. Louis or Chicago, if ther...

Re: Need More help please
I had posted a week ago or so about surging issues and after reading this post and boxermania's reply it remindied me that I have noticed a "surge" at idle. the rpms fluctuate 100 - 200 rpm while resting at idle even when at full operating temp. Not to hi jack, but what could that indicate...

Re: Surge scourge
Thanks for your replys. I have been leaning twards the air leak idea as well. Is there a handy post perhaps with instructions on how to change those "flimsy O-rings"? I have found that info followed from this site is better written and comes with nice little hints so that your don't end up...

Surge scourge
The surge scourge has finally infected my bike. 2004 R 24K miles on it. It started just before the 24K maint and I was really hoping that it was just a symptom of needing the normal maint. So I did the following: Fluids, Valve adjust, spark plugs, TBS, reset motronic, plus I went ahead and changed t...

Re: Can I get a definitive answer on the Aeroflow tankwings?
I have had the Areoflow 1/2 touring sheild and wings for approx 12k. Though they make my bike into a RT lite, it works for me. I have occasionally ridden without the wings and I can always tell that the noise and wind buffeting are increased. As far as the looks are concerned, I struggled with that ...

Re: ABS service
IA-beakster,
yes that is the cap. With the plastic drain tube off to the side , I only get 1/4 turn before it hits the motronics. So how does it come off?
Thanks
The PM was my first attempt sorry if it didn't make it.

I finally got around to Joining this excellent online brain trust.
I PM'd Iowabeakster, but decided to make a more public appeal for help as well.
How do you remove the wheel circuit resevior caps on a '04 RR? The front one is really the problem.
Thanks
Joe
