Thanks for the tip on Tisher BMW... I looks like their website is getBMWparts.com. I also have a BMW car and will be using them for parts in the future.
I also like Bavarian Auto Parts (bavauto.com). I've ordered from them and I've always been impressed.

handlebar lock
Did you know you can lock the handlebars both "hard" left and "hard" right? I only thought it could lock to the right. Duh.

Re: Lost Keys for BMW Sidecase
I can't find a decent page (with all the photos) describing re-keying to the panniers. This is the best I found and its on an internet archive: http://replay.web.archive.org/20041204134656/http://www.pbase.com/rodneff/keying_bmw_locks I'm definitely going to try and re-key the bags this weekend. I used to run Avon tires on my Sportster. Long lasting, nice looking, affordable tires. I never regretted buying Avon tires.

This is one of my biggest fears. I only have one key to my side bags. You've convinced me that I'm gonna get another one or two made.

Re: Gear indicator '00 R1100R ( European)
The bike has a built in gear indicator for first and fifth. One thing I've noticed... When in first or fifth gear the shifter gets "floppy". For instance when you keep pushing down into first you know your there when the gear shifter no longer has resistance when pressing downward and feel...

I have the Michelin Pilot 2 tires. I ran them last year and really like them. No noticeable wear in one season's worth of riding, and they never broke loose on me.

Re: lowering r1100r
Thanks for the pictures. After looking at them I think I'll stick with my stock seat. It looks too low and hard for long trips. I am afraid my butt would hurt and the low height would be hard on my knees. Hopefully someone else may want to trade.

Re: Quandary Regarding the Purchase of a 2010 R1200R
I freely admit I didn't read every reply so far. Has anyone suggested that you visit your BMW dealer and take a R1200R for a long test ride? BMW is the only manufacturer (that I know of) that will let you take test rides. Stop in parking lots, maneuver the bike, see how it feels, etc. I formerly rod...

Nothing like riding in the Zion tunnel... Riding along cliff edges near Calf Creek (Boulder)... then through Capital Reef National Park.
My second choice: http://mapq.st/ihU580 Southwest Colorado

I'm sure someone out there would trade you a stock seat for the Corbin. I'm fairly happy with my stock seat, but I might be interested. Maybe post some pictures of the seat on here?

Re: Introduction
So I bought a old style Concours, sorry but the worst bike for handling corners and comfort I ever owned. Took forever to sell too. Then last fall spotted a R850R for resonable money and bought it. Ed Howdy! Are you in Utah? I saw a Concours for sale locally and the guy said he bought a BMW. I thou...

Re: lowering r1100r
I think you would do fine with a standard seat. As I said before I'm only an inch taller than you, and I keep my seat on the highest setting. If you drop the standard seat to the bottom setting you should gain at least an inch. or you could trade for a Harley Hugger? http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za...

Re: lowering r1100r
The seat is in the lowest position. I think I may need to lower the shocks. I can't seem to find any info on changing the suspension. Something is very odd here. My bike has the stock seat (not lowered). I'm 5'-8" tall with a 30" inseam and I prefer my seat on the highest position. Why do...
