To the question of air in the lines of a non abs 1150r would be worth noting Canyon Runner that its worth checking the bleed point at the (redundant) ABS connection point near the head stem RHS ( ie where the upper and lower main hoses join) i have found trapped air at this point causing sponginess....

Any flat spot on that tyre will give a loss in confidence

my bike is the non abs, but it has an abs connector on the rhs of the headstock, with a bleed point
I'm thinking that the non abs and abs lines are the same for the 02 models?

I have found it is worth experimenting with preload for different tyres. Effectively I get some more ride height at higher preloads, and the bike wants to turn in better. looking for advice on removing scuffs from my hard panniers - 02 R1150 R
the scuffs are mostly from boots, but seem to resist cleanign with brushes etc, and I am wary of damagin the plastic with chemical solutions
