Re: GPS Connection
apologies , i wasnt all that clear, the plug connection is waiting behind the starting motor cover - you should find it tucked up in there ready to receive the OEM socket

Re: GPS Connection
yes you can install an OEM hella plug socket near the starter motor, avaialable from dealer - 5 min job. this will be powered all the time, so theoretically, could run our battery flat if left connected. Alternatively you can wire up a solenoid to the battery switched from an ignition-on circuit, me...

running on one pot - advice required
Hi all I just replaced my battery with and odyssey, and on putting the tank back on i have found that the bike is only now running on the left cylinder. I have retraced my steps and checked a few obvious things , and im now running out of ideas. I have checked: - the right hand spark plug is firing ...

Re: Heated Handgrip Failure (left side)
Ebincia I had a left hand side failure. I first assumed it was the dreaded wiring around the headstock, but took the tank off and traced it back, to find it was the actual grip itself. I removed the rubber grip and located a tiny break in the heating wires. I was able to repair with solder (after mu...

Re: Horn replacement
REFFI i replaced my horn back in 2003 on my 02 1150r. I put on a fiamm horn - i think it was the lower of the two horns that are used on 1150RT. noextra wiring required. its a master blaster. You do need to take some trouble not to foul the suspension at full travel, but particularly to be aware of ...

Re: Buying Advise
Mully Not being smart, 65k is not high mileage, a well maintained 1150r feels very new at that age. my personal experience (bike of simliar mileage) you will benefit hugely from new or revalved shocks, front needs replacing, rear can be revalved, suggest ohlins you may come across issues with wiring...

Re: Possibly embarrassingly ignorant brake question.
To the question of air in the lines of a non abs 1150r would be worth noting Canyon Runner that its worth checking the bleed point at the (redundant) ABS connection point near the head stem RHS ( ie where the upper and lower main hoses join) i have found trapped air at this point causing sponginess....

Re: Remus Y Pipe
Soliton FWIW : I installed a Staintune collector box and new SS pipe a few years back ( easy to access here in Aus) - more torque (front end goes light on acceleration) - easier to access the top end - bike happily goes to higher revs, hits rev limiter etc - more power than other 1150rs on a track d...

Mr C
I note your comment
Any flat spot on that tyre will give a loss in confidence
also, try some more preload, if you havent already, may turn better

Sweatmark Answering your query about Diablo Rosso Have only travelled about 3000km on the front so far, had a diablo on it before that Probably wont get huge mileage but it sure grips I like to have the braking capacity of a softer one on the front.... i have found the pirelli and metzeler to be ver...

re 02 1150 r brake lines
my bike is the non abs, but it has an abs connector on the rhs of the headstock, with a bleed point
I'm thinking that the non abs and abs lines are the same for the 02 models?

Re: Oversteer on 04 R1150R
I have found it is worth experimenting with preload for different tyres. Effectively I get some more ride height at higher preloads, and the bike wants to turn in better. Of course if you have an adjustable length paralever arm as some do, then you can adjust the ride height that way. On a ride the ...
