R1150R - 2002 - Non-ABS - Side Bags - Luggage Rack - Throttlemeister - fly screen - 22,000 miles - tank bag -
some scratches on head's and end of handle bars from drop in gravel.
Second kid on the way, just don't have the time............
There is a 3 amp fuse in the charger that was blown. Haven't checked the output at the socket, but that sounds like a start in the right direction. The bike is a 2002, battery would be 3 years old this winter.
When I bought my bike (used) a couple of years back the guy through in a trickle charger that you plugged in at the accessory outlet. Never much gave it alot of thought as I was daily communting throughout the winter. Haven't been able to ride as much this fall/winter and the battery got down so tha...
A couple of hundred miles in and I can't come up with one bad thing to day about these tires. One question I can't get out of my head is the air pressure on a dual compound tire. Do you see any need to change it up or down? What pressures have you been running?
Just got my new PR2's and must say I am quite impressed so far. I replaced my beloved Conti Road Attaks with Diablo Strada's hoping to get a little more milage out of them but was just dissppointed in the feel and traction with no appreciable difference in milealge. The Strada's felt like I was runn...
Coming into work this morning, I encountered some pretty formidable fog. Aside from wishing I had applied a fresh coat of plexus to my shield, I went to turn on my hazards as an extra means of visibility b/c I was going below the legal speed limit. To my dismay, nothing. Nada. The turn signals work ...
I went down in the gravel about a month ago and bent the brackets on my flyscree. I was trying to remove the brackets this weekend in an attempt to straighten them as much as possible. I encountered the "Impossible to access 6mm bolts". Managed to get one free but the other is still hangin...
Nice pic! I love the map in the background. Have you ever had any trouble with the magnetic bag coming loose. I had a strap on model that I loaded up with some pretty heavy stuff (beer) and always wondered if the magnetic bags would have slipped.
I have a simalar question. Took a slide in the gravel a couple of weeks back. Scratched up the cylinder head (no guards), bar end and the end ball on the clutch lever. Don't really mind the scratch's, just shows the bike gets ridden! My concern is that the bar end and clutch lever are starting to sh...
Coming down a very steep, very rough, mostly graveled road in the blue ridge I dumped her right at the bottom of the hill making a 90 degree right hand turn. Scuffed up the head, bar weight and had to retighten the mirror stalk, but other than that, I think we are good. Wasn't going more that 2 mph,...
If you are going to hit some nasty off road stuff, the Strada's pattern is a better fit. The directions I had last weekend took me past a "END STATE MAINTENENCE" sign and through a creek. don't think the attacks would have faired as well.
I got 5500 miles out of my Conti Attacks until the rear tire showed cords....I loved them, never had them break loose, I felt like I was a better rider. Commuting 100 miles/day half slab, half twisties I felt like I needed a little longer life out of the tire. Switched to the Diablo Strada 1700 mile...
Chi, I have really enjoyed your posts, I have to know what your top box is, how it's attached, who makes it, where did you get it..... I have an 02, but it appears as if your box is not a OEM part and is strapped down to the luggage rack, my wife has been getting better and better about riding and h...
I first had the OEM Dunlops, got about 8500 miles out of them, but not too grippy. Went to the Conti Raod Attacks. Instant love affair. Stick like glue, look great, price was right. It wore off quick though. Only got 4.5k out of them before the cords were showing. I put 100 miles a day on my bike ju...
When I hit about 9k, my bike stopped using oil overnight. I had my 12k serivce 1500 miles ago and it has started using again. They put synthetic in at the service, don't know if that makes any difference but thought I would mention it. Two times now (not in a row) when I start the bike I get a large...
