First gear selection
Hi Has anyone else found it difficult to select first gear when the engine is cold? I have a 2011 with about 3500 miles on the clock and have found it nearly impossable to engage first gear when cold. This has only been the case for the last 1000 miles and even rocking the bike back and forth does n...

Re: Hold onto your air (well, air and oil) cooled boxers
I think water cooled engines tend to weigh less than air cooled for the same configuration and displacement size. I doubt if you include all the parts of the water cooling if that's true.. and we don't have an air cooled engine - it's oil cooled. Air is the medium that removes heat from the radiato...

Re: 2011 leaking fork seals anyone?
Mine is definately fresh oil, I have now covered 1500 miles and get a fresh film of oil every time I go for a ride. Strangely the leak seems worse after a fast motorway/dualcarriage blast than on spirited bumpy back roads riding? At the last visit to the dealers he could find no leaking with a stati...

Re: 2011 leaking fork seals anyone?
Had mine checked at the dealers this week as I had visible oil on the sliders after a 450 mile weekend. They pulled the dust covers and said all was OK with the seals inspite of some energetic pumping of the front end. Their take on the oil was that some might have leaked past the seals whilst the b...

Shakey
The satnav plug is under the tank at the front, if you remove the black plastic trim it is on the left hand side looking from the front.

Does your left hand pannier have a heat shield as it is a requirement on the 2011 luggage? If not it is a free modification carried out by your dealer. Mine is on order and should be in on Monday.

Have you had a test ride? I doubt you are shorter than than me
and I have standard suspension with the low seat and find it OK. It would be nice to be able to have both feet flat, but its never going to happen

Just had a quick look at mine and there are no holes in the tail section where the rack is fitted.

Re: Mudsling
Let me know how you get on with the fitting, machineart are listing the ESA Mudsling as a new item and that the older one does not fit with ESA.
I could do with fitting one before I holiday on it at the beginning of Sept so ordering at the end of Aug will be too tight a timescale.

Mudsling
Hi
Machineart are now showing the Mudsling for the 2011 r1200r with ESA as available online in the States but the UK importer are saying the end of August. Has anyone managed to buy one over there or will your delivery be the same as here.

Re: First 2000 miles on the R1200R review - A compromise to
Hi Adam I too have just moved from a Buell to the R1200R and have found the handling completely different. The main change I have found is that getting really aggressive with the Buell on tight B roads was all part of the fun but the beemer does'nt seem to like it  . Just have to stay smoot...
