Thanks DJ, I really don't mind the popping and blubbering myself. In researching some of the aftermarket stuff, I read on one distributor's (Motosports Network) site that Staintune recommends the following: " While all Staintune exhausts have close tolerance fittings, it is always recommended t...

Question about high-temp sealant

I'm thinking of replacing the cat with either the staintune collector or remus premuff or Y pipe. The service manager of the dealer I use says when you swap the cat for an aftermarket exhaust most yield a lot of popping on decel, he thinks because they are not sealed tightly (where the header joins ...

Rich, sorry to hear about your car mishap years ago in this area but better in the car than on the bike. The "college up the road" you mention would be Mt. St. Mary's, unless you mean way up the road and that would be G-burg College. The areas where I have seen deer are actually in Thurmon...

Rich, well I'm glad that was you, and nice to meet you (kind of). That really was my major excitement for the day, spotting what I thought was a K-R. Don't worry about the color of my bike, don't really care for silver anyway but I love the bike. If I weren't so lazy, I'd have it painted dark blue w...

If it was Friday it was probably me. I could have sworn that was a K-R that passed me but couldn't be sure. If so, yours is the first K-R I've seen on the road to date. Great looking bike, long stride, great rocket. My bike is actually a silver 1150 but there is a light blue 850 I've seen in the are...

I'll agree that riding style probably has the most to do with tire wear, that and also the weight of the payload (rider, passenger, gear). I check pressure about once a week and keep the pressure in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended pressures for that tire, 38/41. By the way, I am train...

Z6's

Same experience here with the Z6's. I have almost 11K on my current set and it looks like there's another 2-3K of life in the rear. The front's a little squared but otherwise looks. . . well, almost new. I got 12K out of my last set. Great tire, couldn't be happier with them and they seem to last a ...
