I'm in the habit of pressing the cancel button manually, even when I haven't turned on the signal in the first place! I guess I'm a little paranoid about blinking my way down the road, so I just tap the cancel button periodically...I know, I know...just a bit of my OCD kicking in!

Does mpg improve as the engine settles in? Not in my experience. My mileage is the same as the day I rode it home, and that was 14k miles ago. I had only gone 190 miles, all city traffic work commute and one 50 mile flogging on my favorite road. That's just under 39mpg, the worst I've ever calculat...

Nobody does know because the story is mixed up with truth, lies, rumours urban myths and Chinese wispers. But things like this take on a life of their own and you will find people who believe and tell you it is the truth. But when pressed they can only say they read it some place or heard it from a...

Yahoo : Are you the lucky sap that won the lime green Rockster that was getting your bike serviced at Bloodworth BMW Nashville when I bought mine . The same one who's grandmaw says it looks like it ought to have a name like kermit the frog. I've love mine so far. Going to ride Tail of the Dragon ne...

I seem to remember reading something somewhere (real specific, huh?) about a wreck with fatalities in which the ABS was determined to be the culprit. BMW is supposed to be contacting owners through their dealerships if your bike is a suspect. Sucks for anyone who bought their bike used, huh?

MisterCindy, No, I don't know who it was...no one even mentioned it or said they saw anything. I called a friend who is a cop instead of "calling the police." He said they don't even write reports on accidents without injuries anymore! Considering the neighborhood, he said odds were that t...

Forced mod to the Rockster!

I came out from paying for my gas last night and a car had hit my bike! It was still standing but the muffler was pretty f*cked up. It was scraped real bad and kind of dangling. I came home and took the muffler off...the rest of the bike seems ok. Thank goodness BMWs have that catalytic converter, s...

Re: Jeeps

Gotta disagree on the Jeep comment, at least as it pertains to the TJ Wrangler and particularly the "Rubicon" models. You might be suprised how well these things do off road in stock configuration. My dad's Rubi was worthless stock. He put about $4k into it and it's better, but it was als...

Re: BMW loosing its way

I gotta say, with pictures of the new R1200S coming out, I'm becoming really concerned with BMW. On the heals of the butt ugly ST, I think BMW is going the wrong direction with their twins. So buy an actual old one and quit worrying about the new styles. I personally don't like the looks of the new...

I also have the Revit summer gloves (Hurricane). I don't think the ventilation moves enough air for Dallas. I'm also concerned about the durability. They're only 6 months old or so, but I literally wear them everyday. The Lorica palms are peeling, and I'm thinking "there goes the reinforced pal...

I guess that's the difference. I'm 6'3" and feel like the bike was custom tailored to me. Now if there was a sport peg conversion, I'd be in "high cotton."

but need to alleviate some of the loading on my wrists. I know how that is...on other bikes...not my Rock. I usually felt the pressure on sport bikes with clip-ons. The Rock is pain free, and I've ridden about 800 miles with minimal stops. Once I conditioned myself to the stock seat, I don't even g...

How long have you ridden your bike with the stock bars? It is a very different position from what I was used to on my Suzuki, but once I spent some time with the stock set-up, I was hooked. I love the ergos of the stock bars, equally effective cutting up traffic or on twisties...I love 'em. Maybe if...

I was recently disgruntled with my BMW dealership and though tabout selling my Rock. No other bike does exactly what this one does, with as much versatility, or as much style. Definitley a keeper!
