By the way if you ever screw up the lids with scratches and such you can restore them with bed liner paint. I used Duplicoler from my local Kragen store . Looks like a factory job . $15.00 vs. the cost of new lids . Just a suggestion .

If you are going to try to bend aluminum your self you must use 5052 or equivilent . 6061 will stress fracture at such a sharp bend .You may want to try a piece of mild steel abot .060 in . thick

A cheap solution is contact paper . I like the clear .It gives the color a matt look .

If you decide to go ahead with this bike I have a Gas tank with about 1/16 deep by 1 1/2 inc long crease in it that I will sell you for $150.00 plus shipping . Hey I once put the 120/60 on by mistake . I actually liked the handling better in the tight stuff. It was a Z6 . It will screw up your odometer reading somewhat. I Think I got over 10,000 miles out of it However I went back to the correct size on the next tire change .
