Re: Filtered earplugs ?

I'm a very satisfied customer of earinc. I have their audio plugs as well as a solid pair. I have another custom set of plugs from my audiologist that look like those. I got them for shooting and riding (not at the same time). They definitely don't work well enough at an indoor range, but seem to re...

Well, I used to own a K12RS, a 12GS and I now ride a 12GSADV and a KS is in there somewhere too. My wife has a R12R. Obviously if you are doing dirt, the gs is the way to go. If you are tall, the GSA is a great choice If you want a sportute style of touring bike the GS is a strong choice. And the GS...

Re: Wudo R1200R

.....the only thing stopping me buying a 1200R is that damned ugly headlamp! Hey Hirsty.... me too..at first anyway. But then I started taking a closer look. I might be wrong but, take a look at the bracket the turn signals are mounted too. That bracket is whats giving the headlight that "Push...

How does he describe the new telelever as a design point? The new one looks blocky like the 1100R. IMHO, there were some really nice design points with the outgoing '50R that could have been retained, or built upon, to make an even better looking bike. Instead, it looks as if they 'vanilla'd' the w...

BCC - what is your wife's inseam? I'm 5'2 and have sat on the low and standard seats... oddly, both fit. The low fit a little better, but the standard is more narrow. I'm leaning toward the low, even though we haven't made a solid decision on buying the bike. I am already in lust with it.. Sidebar ...

MCN-R1200R

I got my copy of MCN yesterday and the R12R was the featured bike. It obviously was a honest, informative & accurate evaluation of the bike---it mirrored my opinion! The negatives: They felt the shocks were harsh over rough pavement and wished Ohlins were an option like the S. They thought the s...

Protection

I ride a 12ADV and it comes with engine and tank guards all over the place.

My wife's bike is a r12r which comes with nothing and has nice clean lines. What's a good way to go for unobtrusive engine protection? Primarily concerned about low speed or no speed tip overs.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Evaluation of Low Seat

We bought a low seat for the r1200r Friday. My wife is 5' 7" and found the regular seat too high, unless she was wearing boots with heels. She rode the R with the new seat Saturday and Sunday for a total of about 575 miles. The seat did the trick and she can now flat foot the bike with normal b...

Lots of owners of many BMW's in the newer model lines report various off throttle jerkiness, jitters at low throttle and similar symptoms of an engine management/fuel injection related nature. I am beginning to wonder if the sophistication of the units coupled with EU3 and US fuel variations has so...

The KR is almost as fast as a KS (which I had). The R12R isn't as fast in a straight line, especially over 120 mph. If straight line very high speed acceleration is your thing, the KR or KS is a much better tool. Guarranteed on the street, no matter your skill, in anything other than a straight line...

It's a natural tendency to tighten up when riding in uncomfortable conditions. It is also normal to try to "correct" the effect of each gust of wind. Force yourself to keep a light grip, make sure your elbows aren't locked and your shoulders are relaxed. Don't try to micro manage your lane...

Re: how much power?

Can anyone compare the power of accel of the r1200r to a r1200gs? :?: I had a 12gs and we have a 12GS ADV and a R12R. IMO, the R accelerates significantly harder. Faster handling too. Better pure streetbike, IF you don't need the legroom or roughroad/dirt capability. Racegun, not going with a K?

Yong, I don't know how different the GSA is from the regular GS, but I test rode one at the open house. The GS that is. And I'm almost your identical size, 210lbs 5'10", with the same inseam and the new GS felt just about perfect. I came very close to flatfooting it on both sides. Next year my...

Thats a sharp looking GSA. My dealer has one in the crate last I was in. People complain about the weight, but from what I've looked at it appears the GSA (without the extra gas) only weighs the same as the R1150R. How tall are you, what inseam, & how close to flat footing it are you? I hear yo...

BCC, I've been itching to buy an R1200GSAdv for a month or two. My dream is to sell my R1150R, buy the GSA, & then pick up a Ducati S4RS as an about town/commuter. Let us know how you like the GS & the new RR. Will do (Can you tell I just got a camera for Christmas?). http://integrity.smugm...

Hey BCC ! Ric, The bag on the back of you wifes RR, what make is it ? Where'd she get it ? The bike is sharp....not sure how one can compare it to an RC51 & f4i, those are way total "back-Breaker" bikes set up largely for serious track time. The bag is a Chicane. It's actually meant f...

A new R1200R

My wife and I are serial motorcycle owners, with a preference for BMW's. I've recently purchased a 12GS ADV and my wife got a R12R last week. http://integrity.smugmug.com/photos/120284521-M.jpg Before she purchased, we both tested a demo R. This bike rocks. I've never ridden a 1150R so I can't offer...
