Mark, I had the P3+ unit installed on my R1200R. I didn't realize the R12 wasn't listed on the web site as I bought my lights from my dealer. I've since talked to the owner and he assures me that they will, absolutely, work just fine on the R12. And they do. Bill

Jim, I had a fuse box installed before I picked up the R1200R. Re Hyper Lights, I have an alternative suggestion: Rear running lights, brake lights, emergency flasher lights and battery voltage indicator, all in one unit. They're two 12-led modules. They're called P3 multi function programmable rear...

I did exactly what you're thinking of doing. Traded my '04 RT for the 1200R, thereby dropping over a 100 lbs and gaining about 14 horsepower, and haven't looked back yet. You might want to try the BMW low seat for the R, coupled with one of Parabellum's windshields. My current configuration is the P...

Hi All, I'm having my bags painted crystal grey, even as we speak. Found a local custom painting shop, discovered he's painted the R1200R bags previously, and left mine with him. They will be ready tomorrow. The Parabellum Scout Fairing should be arriving soon, so I'm getting close to having the R j...

Neil, I don't remember what the MotoLights people say, but I went two years without replacing them on my 04 RT. So when I got rid of the RT I had a new set of the Moto's installed on the R1200R. If you go to their web site I think you may find a life expectancy of the bulbs and if I remember correct...

I would be glad to send pics of the lights. However, I'm away from home until the 29th, but I'll send them as soon as I get back. I must say this is the 2nd set of MotoLights I've had and I like them a lot. If you have any other questions, just drop me an email.

Crystal Gray, hands down, followed closely by the black with pin stripes. Heck, they all look good. :)

That Parabellum Sport Fairing really looks good! I'm thinking abut going that route myself, and I'm wondering what, if any, buffeting you get on your helmet at hiway speeds? How Tall is the windshield? Looks good!

Fly, Sorry to hear of your bad experience at your dealer. Makes you wonder if anybody is paying attention! I'll repeat what TWI said of Morton's in VA. I've been dealing with them since '92 and haven't come close to experiencing anything like you describe. Hang in there.

Thanks for the tip, it's appreciated, I'll look into it. I feel if I could get about 2" more of height on the windshield I would be in good shape, thereby enabling me to rack up hundreds of more miles. Just as soon as I replace the seat

Haas,
Congratulations, and welcome to the club. I went to test ride the F800ST, and ended up with the R12R. Traded in my '04 RT and couldn't be happier, except for the miserable stock seat. Which I'm working on.

Welcome,
Bill

Can you tell me a little bit about the edging for a windshield? I have a Parabellum 22" windshield and, while I like it, I think it would be better if I could block some of buffeting on the helmet. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. Bill

I feel your pain! At first I tried the beads, and that did nothing. Then I tried the Alaska sheepskin pad and it didn't improve my ride quality at all. I recently received a sheepskin covered getl pad from American Specialities-usa. With the gel pad I can ride for an hour at a time, but I must dismo...

I had the Cee Bailey's 20" windshield which uses the BMW mounting bracket ($118) and wasn't impressed with the overall wind & weather protection. I've just received the 22" windshield from Parabellum, which uses its own mounting bracket and it seems to provide much better overall wx pr...

I was at the BMW RA rally in Asheville this past weekend and saw a Russell Day Long seat on a R1200R. Talked to the rider and he absolutely loves it. I've had two Russell Day Longs, one I loved, could ride all day :D . The other killed my rear end and cut off circulation to my legs & feet  ...

I've only had the low fuel light come on once, at 228 miles and it took 4.6 gal, an average about 49mpg. Since that time I've avereaged about 52mpg and have gotten 60 a couple of times. Of course, my throttle hand was being lazy when I was doing that :?
