Re: 2010 R12, looking for tail bag
I have the soft bag from a couple years ago. The exterior material is different from the current model, but otherwise I believe it's the same. Great bag, keeps stuff dry. When traveling, I keep all my clothing in it, plus room for some extra stuff. I highly recommend this bag. PIc for your evaluati...

Re: 2010 R12, looking for tail bag
Thanks all for responses. Hatepylons: I like the Softbag 2, and I have the OEM luggage grid. How does the Softbag 2 attach? I'll grab some images of the front straps later tonight. The underside of the bag has a nice profile and pre-molded shape that helps keep the shape as well as centering the ba...

Do you have the OEM luggage grid? I just bought the Softbag 2, very happy with it - but you need the grid.

Re: Vibration vs. RPM vs. Throttle Position
Wow! Had a bit of reading to catch up on. Sorry for not responding, I was out putting 1800mi on it last week. :D Turned out the issue was the throttle bodies. I was able to sync them the night before departure, didn't even get a chance to road test it due the late hour before leaving. They were shoc...

Re: Vibration vs. RPM vs. Throttle Position
Anyway - sorry about derailing this thread... Nonsense. You provided a lot of good & well articulated information - thank you for that. I understand the benefits of the ZDDP content - I work for a Corvette parts company and a lot of my wholesalers would be interested in knowing about the Castro...

Re: Vibration vs. RPM vs. Throttle Position
While the vibrations might improve over time lets not forget that its a twin we're talking about, and twins vibrate. Right, I knew going into this that there'd be vibes. I just didn't want to be doing something dramatically detrimental to it. Breaking in my Sprint 1050 was very difficult to NOT lug...

Re: Vibration vs. RPM vs. Throttle Position
Also, I advise staying with standard "mineral" oil vs synthetic until the rings wear in. I changed over at the 600 service to synthetic and had excessive oil consumption problems until going back to the standard oil. Congrats! Mark_1 Mark, Thanks for the feedback. I try to do as much of m...

Thank you for your feedback! I figured/hoped the motor was still a bit tight.

Vibration vs. RPM vs. Throttle Position
Hello all, just a (hopefully) quick question..... I just bought a new R1200R Classic. Love the bike. Coming off of a Spring GT and Triumph Tiger. Bike has 600 miles on it now, I've followed BMW's break-in procedure like a bad religion when it came to RPM limits. Did first oil & final drive chang...

Re: The R1200R Photo Discussion Thread!
So..... went to the dealer last weekend...... came home with a bike. *Not* planned. The free luggage deal from BMW was too good to ignore. Oh, who am I kidding. I loved the bike. Put the first mile on it. Within five I was figuring out how to pull it off. Bags come in next week, sport screen, engine...
