Karamazov still with us?

Has anyone heard from Karamazov? I have not seen posts from him and it has been a few weeks since I corresponded re possible sale of R12R accessories he had - did not hear back. Wondering if he is OK, no longer on the board?

Re: Sudden Battery Death

I believe it is a defect. mine died completely before 6000 miles on my 2007. It happened to be dead the day I was leaving for Moto GP - Laguna Seca. Fortunately A&S Cycles Roseville, CA replaced it very fast for me, no cost of course - they had a fully charged battery ready to go and I was only ...

Re: How do you adjust the front end of a 1200 R?

I'm also not sure why the dealer would do that when the owners manual states so much lower. At my dealer, when I bought, the Sales guy recommended 40 in front, 42 rear (this was for solo). I like to stick closer to the manual, plus a bit, so I run about 34 front, and 38 rear as it seems good comprom...

Re: First post - new buyer questions

Hello, As you know from test ride, the R12R is one excellent bike - probably the best all-around bike ever. But see if you can buy used as dealer will likely cut you no slack on price - I talked my dealer down a good bit on a demo and now I see I probably could have gotten new or more options for sa...

Re: Verholen Bar backs question - dealer cost to install

Yeah, and now that they quoted me $390 for the 6K service, I'll probably need to get the manual and some more tools. Insane - not what its worth, what they think they can get away charging me.

Re: Verholen Bar backs question - dealer cost to install

Thanks for input on this - I appreciate! I have done handlebar swaps before on other bikes, so shouldnt be hard to pop on the Verholens, and then if I've got any question, I can have service check it when I'm in for my upcoming 6K.

Thanks again,

Bill

Verholen Bar backs question - dealer cost to install

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone who has had their dealer install Verholen Bar backs on the R1200R can comment on what sounds like excessive cost estimate I was quoted for dealer to install. They quoted me $146 USD to install the Verholens because of needing to re-route cables, not new, longer cables,...

Re: Dealer overservicing bikes

wow - $119 for the 6K service? My dealer previously quoted over $300 when I asked them about what my upcoming 6K service would be. Sounds like I need to make a few phone calls to dealers, check out what's being charged, and make sure I dont get overcharged when I take in for 6K service. Buying the t...

Moto GP - Laguna Seca - anyone going? Need room Sat night

Hello, Anyone going to Moto-GP in Monterey, CA July 18-20? My usual annual ride group can't make it this year, but I am still going for the day on Sunday. I would prefer to travel on Saturday and stay Saturday night but can't afford going solo on a room. Anyone have extra space in room? (just need a...

So question for you stogiepuffer, as I am considering a windscreen and about the same height, with the 18" screen are you looking over the windscreen or though it?

Appreciate it - thanks!

Re: Should I?...Should I really? But I've always owned Harleys.

An interesting dilemma, one I've been struggling with on and off for the past year - which bike to get after my sportbike. Turned out it was the R1200R which I bought last year and appreciate more every time I ride it. The Harley's really do something for me when I see them parked. A Road King just ...

Re: Haven't I been patient enough...

I guess I have no patience, either that or I just love summer too much. The winter of 1983 in the midwest was the last straw, I loaded my car with bare essentials and drove west. Now it's much better, but I still detest winter even in California.

I have tried several searches, as I have in the past. Closest I got was a photo of Israel's with Japanese text (which unfortunately I cant read) can you or anyone let us know the specific company who sells the city lids and how to get in touch with them? Appreciate whatever is available. Not always ...

Re: Another Proud Owner

Welcome Carol! Yes it is a fine machine - the best. I agonized long over parting with the $$ for this new ride, in fact, avoided the test ride because of that. But once ridden, must be owned. I've had my '07 almost a year now and appreciate it even more now than when I 1st got it. Enjoy! And yes, pu...

Re: taking the plunge

Hey Graf, Not sure if the price you're quoted is one you negotiated on or if it is just what dealer presented to you. I heard, and know from experience it is hard to talk em down at the BMW dealers, not like buying a Japanese made bike, but you can talk them down somewhat. I'd expect you may be able...
