Re: Battery and infrequent riding

Well... 5 months later and the root cause finally emerges. Hindsight is a wonderful thing... dud battery. The bugger deteriorated gradually over the last few months, becoming more and more difficult to keep at a decent charge level. Eventually it just gave up the ghost at a petrol station an...

Couple of photos of the Rockster from my little trip to Kinglake and Flowerdale yesterday. Mostly when it was clean, just before leaving... :D http://mreddyinaustin.smugmug.com/gallery/4478648_QpbjR#263418209 http://mreddyinaustin.smugmug.com/photos/263418209_Emf2Q-L.jpg http://mreddyinaustin.smugmu...

Tried the high setting once and pretty much never again. Lower setting is more than hot enough for me. Then again, we don't get those sort of temps much here I suppose.

Well, a week or so later and here's the update: Took it to Moto One in Melbourne (great guys) and had them give it the once over, including adding a socket and supplying me with a tender/charger. Turns out that the clowns who did the full service screwed up the idle (waaaay to low) as well as a few ...

Hmmm.. Okay. Thanks everyone. No socket on the 03s it seems (that I've been able to find anyway) so I'll have to add one. Not sure if there's any point though since the underground carpark at my apartment doesn't have a power outlet so a battery tender isn't an option anyway.

Battery and infrequent riding

Hi folks, I've just returned from a year and a half overseas and am in the process of putting my baby back on the road, a 2003 Rockster Ed 80. Got the full treatment about a month ago, including a new battery and whatnot, and then immediately got sent interstate for a few weeks by my boss. Convenien...

Nah. don't ride to work very often. I use the train. I like to go out for a beer or two after work reasonably often (ie 3 days a week or more) and I never drink and ride, so most days the bike stays home. It's more of a weekend toy. Besides, I find the whole work clothes vs bike gear thing a pain in...
