Exhaust can removal and blueing pipes

For those that removed the exhaust can, do you notice any more blueing on the pipes - by the cylinder heads?

Has anyone had any issues to date? I know the previous thread is pretty old on can removal...

Thanks for your input!

My Juggs don't look so good - Replacement question...

I just laid down the Rockster today. Went into a corner and it slid out from under me. I felt the feelers on the footpeg scape and thought nothing of it since it's happened before. This time, I must have tipped a little too far and under she went. I am looking on-line for replacement cy...

Are my feet hot or is just me?

So, I removed my can (exhaust that is) for the first time yesterday. Man, that thing weights a ton! After riding for an hour or so, my feet felt warmer than a typical ride with the can on. Am I imagining things or can that be possible? Anyone else have the same thing? By the way, the rear ri...

Wow! I am impressed...

The company just called me and offered 50% off my service and asked what would be convenient for ME to bring it in!

Did I say I was impressed!?!

Darn BMW Dealership...

 All I needed was basically the throttle body's synched and the valves adjusted and this is what ended up happening. This is a a letter I sent to them today... How much you want to bet, nothing will come of it. No phone call, no e-mail response. Nothing! I am not sure this will get to the s...

I hope I was not incorrect in doing so (I searched this forum for what to put in), but I used Mobil 1 75-140w Full Synthetic for the tranny and Mobil 1 75-90w Full Synthetic for the rear end.

I just did my 12,000 service.

The old washer should be OK. I recently did the same fluid change. Be sure you can get the FILLER caps loose before the drain caps come out. (I've heard of guys draining their fluids and then having trouble removing the filler caps.) Also I notice, with the Mobil 1, a little more tranny rattle at i...

Transmission & Rear Drive Oil Change

I just got back from the stores and purchased the Mobil 1 Synthetics for the transmission and the rear end. It looks like a pretty straight job. Now I notice the instructions say to replace the crush washer and that I don't have! How important is the crush washer to replace with new? Can I use the o...

Yes, I saw that thread too...

I also did find a thread about cross reference, but only saw a single (not twin) spark plug configurations.

My concern is if I go looking this weekend (not at a dealership), are their plugs I can pick up at auto stores?

Thanks for all your help! :smt102

Spark plug help

I don't know if I am just a lame searching fool or what, but I cannot find what plugs I am to use for the Rock. I know it needs two on each side and I also found some people run a hotter one in the bottom than the top. My question is, which plugs do I use??? Can anyone help? Can I buy these locally ...

Well, I just called the local BMW service technician. At 12,000 miles they recommend a level 2 service. Basically all the things listed by MikeCam. Total cost would be $229.10. That does not include the 94.80 to bleed and refill the brake fluid.

They are also a month out...

Just an FYI...

Thank you both for your input! In my FZ1, I ran the Mobil 1 syntehtic. Is that oil not a good choice for this bike? Upon buying the bike, the guy gave me the BWM brand oil which I have used to date. Any advanteges or recommendations in changing oil? I have looked at the Ohlin shocks. Aren't they aro...

New to the Rockster...

First time poster -- long time reader.... Just purchased my first BMW a month ago -- an 04 Rockster with 10,000 miles on it. Since, I've put on about 2,000 miles. My first ride was in N. Carolica to the tail of the dragon. Felt good...just need to learn that the pegs scrape quicker than my previous ...
