Re: f800gs mirrors on the cheap

Hi all, After reading all the info posted on this thread as well as links to other threads, I ordered a pair as well. The thread on the Aprilia clamp is defiantly not the same as the stock bmw thread. the Aprilia is slightly finer. You can elbow it in just like some of you did. But, I think it will ...

Re: Bike won't start...

It is a alive!! I want to thank everyone for chiming in. It is indeed the battery. I ended up ordering the Deka per suggestion here. It came yesterday and I left it on charger till today. The start was instantaneous. It has never started this fast even when new. I am not sure how long this fast star...

Re: Bike won't start...

Thanks everyone for the help. Thanks websterize for posting the link to the thread on PC535 battery discussion. I am wondering since it seems most likely that need a new battery, is there one that does not require modification and just drop in? I don't have time to ride let along tinker with snippin...

Re: Bike won't start...

Thanks for the reply and posting the PDF manual. The bullet where it states to run the engine of the donor vehicle scares me. Since based on everything I have read, unless the donor is another bike, it has always been NOT to start the vehicle. Does BMW charge system differ from other bikes? If I do ...

Bike won't start...

Hi, I have a r1200r since 07. Due to work/life stuff, I have not been able to ride as much as I normally do. I was able to (after charging) successfully start it a 2 times since march 2010. I do seem to remember needing to charge the battery at least once to get it started. This season is the first ...

Re: Going to the dealer this friday to buy my bike

my last bike before the r12r was a 2003 vfr -- ala vtec like yours. IMHO if you are a revver, twins won't satisfy you. coming from a fizzer -> V4 now you are looking for a twin, you are stepping down in revs. Blasting through corners at 8k on the VFR seems to float your boat, R12r redlines at 6k(or ...

Re: It's gone!

Hi, For people who gets numbness, may I ask what RPM range do you ride in? On my r12r, I don't get offensive vibe to the foot till 55k and to the hands in the summer till 5k (slightly higher in winter due to thicker gloves). I use to get numb hands around 4.5k but, after installing foam grips, I do ...

hi bill, i won't be able to give you any comparisons regarding different BMWs since this the r1200r is my first. however, as far as difference in shields, it depends on your height, seat choice and inseam as well as whether you have a raiser/bar-back installed or not. if you do a search on screens, ...

anyone knows how to take the tank off the bike? looks like it is very tight under the tank. i would need to take the tank off or at least lift it a little to have a proper look.

thanks

reflective materials

hi all, in an effort to be more visible thus in theory more safe, i started to look for different options for reflective clothing. at the end, i opted for the icon mesh vest. at the time i picked it, i assumed the bright color will help during the day and the reflective material will help at night. ...

cee bailey 16"

hi, i finally was able to get a screen for my bike. i never had screens before this. i tried a cb 18" and found it noisy and shook my head badly at highway speeds. i figure i can either go up or down in height since when i duck under or raise up, i get quiet air. i figure the bike looks better ...
