Re: R 1200R Newbie - Windshield Question

I had the OEM Sport Shield, the OEM Touring Shield and a 20" Cee Baileys. They were all great for different purposes. Around town, highway, and longer trips in that order. Now that I've traded the bike on an '08 GS the Sport Shield is available and listed in the Buy, Sell, Trade section of the ...

Re: Brake recall

Took my bike in today for it's 6k and was told it had the brake line recall. They have to wait for the parts to come in before it can be fixed. Did not get a notice in the mail yet.

Re: Help me sort out exhaust options, pls pls

I have the Akra. I notice a slight gain above 5 K with the baffles out. Ran it for a couple of weeks with the baffles in. When I took them out, I immediately saw and continue to see a 2 mpg increase.

Biggest benefit is that it looks great.

Re: Corbin for R1200R

I've had 5 Corbins over the years. They seem to degrade in quality each time. The latest was for my F650 GS. Got it over a year ago. Couple of production flaws from the factory, but rides very well as did the one on my KLR I rode to Prudhoe Bay. Still holding out for a Sargent for the R1200 R, (had ...

Re: Tyre Pressure vs Temperature

To find correct pressure for your bike regardless (or irregardless, still don't know why those words mean the same thing) you should check pressure when tires are cold and then ride somewhat aggressively for 15 minutes. Check pressure again and it should have risen 10%. If it went up more, tires are...

New Lee Parks Total Control Training in Atlanta

We've just opened the first Lee Parks Total Control Training Center in the Southeast. This could be up to 1000 miles closer for some people. See AtlantaRidingClinic.com for info.
Thanks,
Bob

Re: Silencer angst

Yes. It's a slip on. Installed one on mine last week. As usual, it takes longer to wiggle off the old one than to put on the new one. Easy to install. Fits perfectly with sidecases and center stand support. It's titanium. Sticker is paper (bumper sticker). Almost as quiet as stock. Haven't removed b...
