Re: change handle bar angle for better ergonomics?

Excellent. Thanks for taking the time to do that.
I'm going to look on eBay for a set. Are they called Roadster bars for a r1150?

Re: change handle bar angle for better ergonomics?

Have you tried Roadster bars? (They might at least provide a template, since they don't interfere with the tank.) I've got roadster bars installed on mine now, it does make for a more comfy/relaxed ride. But then I guess it kinda takes the Rock* out and replaces it with a Road*... Does that mean I'...

Re: change handle bar angle for better ergonomics?

Would you be worried about hitting the tank? I know the stock Rockster bars are super low already. You probably wouldn't be able to turn them to the bar stops though...You could also put "bar backs" on if you need them closer to you. It's not so much a matter of moving them closer to me. ...

change handle bar angle for better ergonomics?

I'm considering changing the angle of my Rockster handle bars slightly to improve the ergonomics of my hand position. Looks like about 10 degrees down and 10 degrees back should do it. I have access to a tube bender so I can do a correct job and I'm guessing the controls / cable lengths will not be ...

Re: mixed up fuel lines - help

You shouldn't have to remove the tank to see if the cable is seated correctly. Here is a picture of where I found the problem: http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt291/designo123/P1000266.jpg Since the cable is spring loaded, just center it and it will seat itself. 65 degrees in PA tomorrow; I going...

Re: mixed up fuel lines - help

Thanks JAS I will check the fuse first and then the throttle cable. My truck did the same thing so I will take it out for a ride and if it continues look at the throttle cable. Definitely check that the toddle cables are seated. Same thing happened to me and I thought I had some bad gas (...

Re: mixed up fuel lines - help

All good with new metal (chrome plated brass) disconnects in place. When I first started the bike, ran real rough until I realized a throttle cable was hung up. Cost about $80. from beemerboneyard. Got them in 2 days. - Rob

Re: mixed up fuel lines - help

Here a picture of my bike and the lines I've confused (note blood): http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt291/designo123/P1000249.jpg and the diagram showing the lines coming from the tank. I'm assuming that the "center" line is the upper line as Beaze suspects in his post as well. When I d...

Re: mixed up fuel lines - help

That's the answer I was looking for. I'll give it a shot tomorrow. Worst can happen is that the bike doesn't run well and I have to struggle to switch them around again. But at least it's better then guessing. I should post pics. Can I do that here? Not sure how to do that. BTW, sorry for not gettin...

Re: mixed up fuel lines - help

I've looked at the same page. What I can't determine is how the lines shown connect to the 2 lines( arranged one over the other)coming off the bike. Thanks for the try.

mixed up fuel lines - help

OK, I'm stupid, I am installing new fuel line disconnects and I forgot to mark which is which and I assume it makes a difference. I was so involved in just getting the dam things off. I'm replacing the plastic disconnects with metal ones. looked through my service manual and couldn't find anything. ...

Re: Trottle Meister on a Rockster?

OK, since no one wants to post to my question (but 75 viewed), I'll reply since I'm usually the only person that listens to what I say anyway and I do occasionally talk to my self. I'm that guy babbling incoherently except that I'm riding down the street not walking so no one can hear me except me a...

Trottle Meister on a Rockster?

Has anyone installed Throttle Meister cruise control on their Rockster? I have a 2005 R1150R Rockster and would like to add a Throttle Meister. Their web site only lists a 2004 Rockster with heated grips. I don't have heated grips. Can I use them on my bike? I'm waiting for their response to this qu...

Heated grips?

I'm thinking about installing heated grips in my '05 Rockster. Do they install on stock bars or do they need special bars?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
