Here's a brief video I posted a while ago on the twinmax. I haven't had to make any adjustments yet and I've done my last 2 services.

Re: Front wheel removal
I always torque the axle properly when I install it but for some reason it seems like it takes a lot more effort to loosen the axle vs. the torque used to tighten it down. Once loosened it is very easy to remove on my bike - and easy to install. No metal filings. I support the front wheel when remov...

Re: San Francisco
I really enjoyed riding the avenue of the giants coming down from Oregon into San Francisco. It's a nice winding road through the giant redwoods.

Loved that book! Read it a couple of times in my 20s. Lila was a good read too. I always hoped he'd put something else out.

Re: Pilot Road 3's
I put up a post in a different thread about these. I've got probably 700 miles on a set now. I really like them too. Only thing is I noticed a fair amount of noise coming off the front tire at around 65 mph at first. It seems to be getting better lately, that or I'm just getting used to it now. Have...

Re: Pillion handles, and luggage
The standard BMW rack and top case works great. There are handles, as shown in the photo below. The top case can be equipped with a back pad, also shown, for the passenger. It is rather expensive. Your dealer can provide the amount. But IMHO it fits the look of the bike very well and holds everythin...

Re: Strange behavior using portable Airman
Appreciate you posting this, now I am a little concerned about my little compressor I got from Pep Boys...a Slime brand that does a great job on a car tire (six minutes) so was assuming it would do a bike tire pretty quickly...however I didn't really pay much attention to the draw as it said it was...

Re: 2010 R12R - 12,000 mi service @ dealer
I've done my own maintenance staring with the 24K service - have done the 24K and 30K so far. For the 24K I documented as much as I could with photos in case something happened and I needed to submit a warranty claim. So far nothing's happened except a great running bike and me saving a ton of $$. :...

Re: Michelin Pilot Road 3
Hi Kyle, I didn't get a B model. I rarely ride 2 up. I'm impressed so far with these tires. I didn't realize how worn my old set was until I put these on. With the dual compound material, the front tire ends up wearing out on the sides so the tire takes on a kind of V shape. It's nice having an even...

Re: Michelin Pilot Road 3
I've got about 500 miles or so on a pair of PR3s now. Overall I'm very happy with them. Not much difference I can tell in handling character from the 2s. I got to run them in some rain the other night and they provided great traction. I ran them through some twisties and found them to be quite stick...

Re: Why you should always wear protective gear & clean under
As the others have said, sorry to hear about your bike but I'm glad you are here to tell the tale. I know we've had this discussion before but I'm running the metal BMW GS head guards. I've drug both sides around corners. The guards touch down the same time the pegs do and also leverage the rear whe...

Re: Alternator Belt Replacement
Thanks for the tips. A socket would have been the way to go. What size socket is that? I'd like to get one for next time. I swear I dropped the oil cooler and tried rotating the engine with a large crescent wrench, couldn't get it that way. But this is why I'm not a mechanic. :D Hopefully this info ...

Re: Alternator Belt Replacement
I believe that is a GS. I tried that method and ran into a problem with the oil cooler being in the way of the wrench. In searching MOA & ADV it seems riders have experienced varying degrees of difficulty and come up with different methods to get the belt on: guiding the belt with a palm while b...
