Re: ABS system question (s)
I made mine reversible even though I didn't use the control board by splicing into the harness instead of cutting the wires. Again my control board was bad. I think it's either 8 or 9 wires that I had to splice. I put a plug on the end of the wires. I then made a harness for the other side of the pl...

Re: ABS system question (s)
My R1150RT has a mechanical speedometer so I still had it working. I eventually bought a used servo and reinstalled the ABS. After driving it for about 160k miles with the servo ABS I didn't like it without. I've had ABS on my bikes since 1991 and it has saved me a few times.

Re: ABS system question (s)
If you keep the controller board in the system you can remove the ABS relay to get the Brake Warning Light out. The General Warning Light will need the bulb removed. In my case there was no choice about the controller board since my controller board was dead. I used the ABS relay to control my brake...

Re: ABS system question (s)
Is the R1150R speedometer electronic or mechanical? If it's mechanical you will have an easier time when removing the ABS servo. If it's electronic you will loose your speedometer function if you remove the complete ABS servo. If it's electronic then you can leave just the controller board on the bi...

Re: ABS system question (s)
Not cleaning the rear sensor is a big mistake. Since the sensor is in the final drive is can collect whatever metal particles wear off of your bearings and gears.

Re: ABS system question (s)
Maybe a GS911 will tell you more about the fault. Do you have access to one? Our local club has one for all members to use.

Re: ABS system question (s)
It's my understanding that Module Masters has been saying a couple of months for at least a couple of years. I looked into this when my 04 R1150RT abs failed this summer. I originally bypassed it until I could find a reasonably priced used unit. I now carry the pieces with me that will make it easie...

Re: ABS system question (s)
Steady burning warning lamp and ABS flashing at 4hz. On a positive note I did find a company that rebuilds the ABS pump for what seems to be pretty reasonable cost compared to buying new or used from a junk yard. Looks like around $250, other alternative is an ABSectomy! http://modulemaster.com/reb...

Re: ABS system question (s)
A low fluid fault will be 1 Hz alternating lights not the solid single light you are getting.

Re: ABS system question (s)
If your worn brake pads were causing the fluid low level switch to activate you would be getting an alternating 1hz flash of the warning lights.
