Re: Mounting Tool Tube on RR

WOW!! What a great idea and deal. Suprised more of you weren't swayed by the very costly ($139) GT Moto Tool-Tube. My question is how well will it fit on a f800st or r1200st AND has anyone figured out how to lock it?

Re: sidecar

Check out the back page of BMW Owner's News Magazine - March 2010 issue. There is a photo of member Coach Stroud #82540 standing in his sidecar attached to his R1150R. You can probly track him down through the org. Good Luck! 8)

From RR to F800st OR R1200ST?

=D> Ok folks, I'm back after a few months' hiatus. I now have a buyer for my Ruby Red Roadster ('04 r1150ra w/ 28,000mi) and have found some great low mileage f800st's & R1200st's. I am open to any feedback regarding these models. Reasons for changing bikes: lighter weight, Wind protection (@59 ...

Re: Both Ignition Coils Gone at 35k miles

Heck, you did good; mine on my '04 R only lasted 22,500!! Could not figure out why she was running like a meat grinder instead of a bike! :? Took her in for a service and they discovered the prob. Those damn things weren't cheap either.

Re: My recommendation for headlight bulbs

Wow! that's a great price!! =D> They have come way down in price over the past year. And, switching out the OEM "candle" #-o for one of these babies is one of the best (& most cost-efficient) farkle-like additions you can put on the R.

Re: My recommendation for headlight bulbs

Well, with all this great info on how to improve on our very anemic headlight, I am compelled to add my 2cents to the topic. I just replaced my PIAA (supposed to be super bright) bulb that lasted over 3 years with something new from OSRAM. It is the NIGHTBREAKER H4. According to the package, it prod...

WOW!!! That's a lot of mulah for 2 little beautifully machined and cleverly engineered pieces of metal. Check these out. Not as pretty, but clever and wayyyyy cheaper. http://www.hawksproducts.com/

Battery Heads UP

FYI: The cost of lead has recently increased by 40% . One way this will affect you is that the cost of batteries has already skyrocketed. Some have gone up as much as $60 to well over $200!! :-X My point here is take very good care of your battery. If you do not have or use a battery tender, run out...

Re: Stubel Airhorn

Hi guys & gals; I actually work at California Sport Touring (and, before you ask, NO this is not a solicitation or advertisement!). The horn you mention is a STEBEL Horn - made in Italy. They will make you sound like a cross between a freight train & an 18 wheeler. Or as one customer puts it...

Re: How many miles are on your bike?

Just shy of 26,000 miles with (fortunately) NO problems or breakdowns =D> . Don't forget to do your wheel circuits and break servicing.........works wonders for extending the life of the breaks.
