Re: Old England Vs New England and a Rockster Vs GS

...the cops here are just mean - I was taken away in 'cuffs for doing 80 in a 50! Now you know why US drivers are always pissed off! :D Seriously, some cops really need to take a chill pill. Congrats on your Rockster. As for your seat adapting to it's seat...I've had mine for a year now and didn't ...

Fitting GS handguards onto a Rockster can be done. For best results, get your hands on a Dremel tool as the cable cutout on the right guard needs to be extended. Also, they don't sit square on the bar brackets so I rounded the corners off for better fit.

I've made my own twice now, from old helmet visors and they've worked very well, while not interfering with either the looks of the bike (which imho virtually every aftermarket screen wrecks) nor the "sensation of speed" which is something that I like to have (helps me keep my licence. ;)...

Since I've already posted a few times on the board, might as well introduce myself. Name is Cheree (the handle is she_lion, as in female lion- I'm a Leo and damn proud of it!) and I currently work in an independent motorcycle shop. We work on American V-Twins and build customs. I handle all the part...

I have a set of hyperlights that I've installed inside my taillight lens so you don't really see them until I hit my brakes. I feel that they are well worth the money 'cause those little suckers are very bright and noticeable. Makes me worry a tad less about someone rear-ending me, though I still wa...

Dose it by-pass the brain for the electronic fuel injection?...and make quicker adjustments...better fuel econimy...less surge...more power. Yes, it bypasses the brain for the EFI. Not sure about quicker adjustments. Absolutely will not increase fuel economy, actually the opposite. The PCs add fuel...

And what does $500 get you?? According to the Power Commander website, it gets you the box. There will still be installation and/or tuning costs to go with, unless you do the same yourself. Tuning is a breeze, just takes a laptop. Not sure about install on R bikes but can't imagine it's too difficu...

I must hang my head in shame...I drive a '99 Saturn wagon, which only looks cool when I have my dog in the car with me. (I refer to it as the "Mommymobile" though I have no kids.) But my garage also boasts an '03 Honda Shadow ACE Deluxe, my first bike which I haven't sold yet. I've had it ...

1-3) Me riding it
4) System cases
5) A decent looking tail bag that's smaller than Delaware but will still hold two water bottles.

YMMV :D

I've seen a Hellcat up close and personal (though I didn't sit on or ride it) and it is an attractively ugly bike. You first look at it and think, "Eek, what the heck is that?" Then you look at it some more and you want one. I saw an article about the Wraith last summer. I wanted to ride o...

Ok, this might sound stupid but have you tried riding in a lower gear so the rpms are higher? I noticed some vibes when I first got mine but once I was out of the 'official' break-in period and could run the rpm's up, the buzzing decreased. Now I don't notice any untoward vibrations at all. Another ...

Hmmm, my low fuel light comes on when I hit about 140 miles. Of course, I'm not particularly easy on the throttle and my rock only has 1200 miles on it. Does mpg improve as the engine settles in?
