Re: R1200R Handguards - availability?
Hello Texasmule: Do I understand it correctly. In order to get these 3 parts from Throttlemeister mentioned by you one has to buy the Throttlemeister package of about $ 150.- Is this correct? Red Baron NO! Just the kit they put together when you tell them you already have the throttlemeister. First...

Re: NOW AVAILABLE FROM SARGENT CYCLE PRODUCTS!
I talked to them at lunchtime (Bill.. who I guess is sales..) The story is: - This is an actual Sargent "Product" vs a custom seat. So it qualifies for the 30 day happiness warranty. If you don't like it - you send it back, along with your cover and foam (that they send back with the new ...

Re: Corbin for R1200R
My wife just wrote Corbin complaining of the seat height. We measured her seat at 32" which puts her on her tippy toes. According to their website it should measure 31". We will see what they say. Otherwise, it will be going up for sale. She hasn't even put a 100 miles on the seat. The sea...

Re: Vario Levers
We had the Vario on the GT and have moved them to the GS when my wife sold her GT. Since then my wife found these handles on EBay called Pazzo levers and I really like the way they look and feel. We put them on her R. You can't adjust the end of them like the Vario, but they are only $179 instead of...

Re: R1200R Handguards - availability?
I was able to put the new 08 GS handguards on my 08 R12R. They are workable but you need to switch the left and right mounting brackets. The angle does not work out correctly unless you do that. Also, shimming material would be helpful for the mount to the inside portion of the handlebars. I used t...

Re: Ordering Parts - Chicago BMW
Chicago BMW is s...l...o....w, and I do mean slooooooow. I ordered some parts July 18, I called them last week, and they said they've arrived and would be shipping shortly. Which is the same story I get every time I order from them. I only order "expensive" parts where the 20% discount mak...

Re: Corbin seat - about to pull the trigger
I just got my seat today. Unboxed it and is one good looking piece of work. I will post pictures tomorrow. I do have one problem though. It fits very nice and snug but the seat latch won't catch. I've tried sitting on it both driver and passenger positions, leaning on it, dropping it in quickly but...

Re: R1200R Handguards - availability?
Actually - you can buy the parts that make up the handguard kit.. the parts individually are still available. Just the "handguard kit" that many of us bought has gone NLA. [-X Don try putting in 32727667685 and/or 32727696496 into Max's parts site and you get a big NLA. Those are handguar...

Re: R1200R Handguards - availability?
That may be the case, but try and buy handguards for a pre-'08 GS.moxnix wrote:BMW makes parts available for 30 years I just ordered a new fan for the brick ('85 model).
and it doesn't appear that '08 handguards will work either since they've changed the handlebars
on the new GS.

R1200R Handguards - availability?
MuleWife is going to pick up her new R12R tomorrow, and we've been told by the dealer, and it appears they are correct, based on Max's site, that the handguards for early R12GS are no longer available. If you put 71607697149 into Max's site, it comes back with the part, but no price, as if they can ...
