Beeming, My husband and I did our own carving and shaping on my seat and worked wonders on it. If you decide to do this, or have someone do it for you, be sure to cut the flare off the sides of the seat pan so that your legs get a straight shot to the ground rather than bowing out. When I last looked bradvardy posted a nice set on advrider FleaMarket. Title of the thread "Clean Out Time". I bought a shield from him, very nice fellow to deal with.

I have the same short-finger trouble. Doug (husband) took out the knurled adjuster knob and filed down the #1 flat so that the lever does come back closer to the grip. He did this for both my clutch and brake. Made a big, big difference.

You can get them from your dealer in sets of two for about $25 I think; ridiculously expensive. Lowes and TSC sell the wellnuts if you can figure out a bolt and washer system for the holes in the shield. It may be easier just to call a dealer and lay down the money. Sarah
