Check this link for info on the battery install, has pictures too. Not a big deal to install, my husband and I just put one in my bike.

Carol, You'll be surprised how much easier this all gets with time and patience. I think your anxiety is impairing your performance right now. Same thing happens to me sometimes. Don't rush yourself to try the difficult things until the simple things become second nature. Try to keep anxiety at a mi...

Well, Doug (husband) and I along with some buddies rode our 780cc Bonnevilles (mine an '02, his an '04) to Nova Scotia and back last June. Half way there I knew I'd be looking for a used BMW as soon as I got back home. Handlebar buzz at highway speed drove me nuts and I had forgotten how much I disl...

Hey Erik,

Glad the bike is working out. There's a Gerbings liner for sale on ibmwr for $100. Buy new, buy used, buy whatever, because heated gear is worth every penny.

Hiker,

I bet if you post a want ad here, advrider, ibmwr, and bmwsporttouring you'll be covered up with low seats. I'm also thinking the sales guy John at Louisville BMW said they had a stack of seats piled in a corner in case you can't find one anywhere else. Good luck.

Beeming, My husband and I did our own carving and shaping on my seat and worked wonders on it. If you decide to do this, or have someone do it for you, be sure to cut the flare off the sides of the seat pan so that your legs get a straight shot to the ground rather than bowing out. That helps immens...

I have the same short-finger trouble. Doug (husband) took out the knurled adjuster knob and filed down the #1 flat so that the lever does come back closer to the grip. He did this for both my clutch and brake. Made a big, big difference.

I figured out how to post pictures. This is a shameless plug, but please jump to Buy/Sell/Trade and take a look at the Roadster I have for sale. I bought an older rougher GS with big crashbars to ride with my husband thru gravel/dirt/creeks. This R is way to nice for that. Thanks, Sarah

rb,

If you decide on Moto-Techniques, be sure to ask if they have any returns or seconds, only about $25 and I couldn't tell mine from new.

You might post this over on Advrider on the Blood, Sweat, and Gears forum. They do a lot of wrenching over there. Good luck.

You can get them from your dealer in sets of two for about $25 I think; ridiculously expensive. Lowes and TSC sell the wellnuts if you can figure out a bolt and washer system for the holes in the shield. It may be easier just to call a dealer and lay down the money. Sarah
