Re: Prices
I just purchased a new bike last month. It was a GSXR 1000. I now have the R12R and the GSXR. The salesman gave me a discount off the sticker since I had purchased several bikes from him previously. I told him I would perfer to buy from him but I found the bike cheaper on ebay even with his discount...

Re: 1st service
Get a DVD at WWW.JVBProductions.com. It's a DVD of all the service items that you'll ever need to do on the R12R. Jim Von Baden goes thru each work process and gives a detail list of each tool needed for each job. The functions he goes thru are the oil changes, value adjustments, spark plug changes,...

Re: Monday AM - off to Nova Scotia
We are planning that for our 2011 Spring ride. Are you doing the Cabot Trail? Would love to see some pictures posted from your trip. In September we are riding to the Dakota's and the Custer Battlefield. Our spring trip early June this year was to Laketa and Big Bend Texas. So many places so little ...

Re: Pannier inner bags - anyone got them and are they good?
I use hotels when I travel. I have the Kathy bags from Bob's BMW. They work great and not nearly as expensive as the BMW liners. The liners are much better than carring the muddy panniers inside the hotel. Good investment. If you travel overnight you need them.

Re: oil changes on R12R
Thanks guys I appreciate the suggestions. I'm thinking seriously about investing in the GS911. I love the bike and have not been impressed at all with my BMW dealer. I think I will feel more secure doing the work myself.

oil changes on R12R
I currently have 20,926 miles on my 08 R12. I followed the 600, 6,000, 12,000 mile maintenance schedule as prescibed by BWM and used my BWM dealer for the work. After the 12,000 mile service I was on a long tour for app 3 weeks in Texas, I.E. Big Bend, Leaka (3 sisters) among other places. I had the...

Re: CB radio
Thanks I really appreciate the information. I have looked at both FRS and CB radio's. The CB's seem old school with a lot of drawbacks but a lot of the people I ride with have them. I looked at the Scala helmet to helmet, but your right the range is limited. I'll come over the site you sent and chec...

Re: Just added Remus and PC Whooopeee!
Thursday night I added a complete Remus system, with Powercone silencer. I also added Wunderlich Power Commander. I rode up into the San Bernadino Mountains this weekend and what a Blast! I runs strong and sounds deep and throaty, but not loud. I removed the baffle and its still not Harley loud. I ...

Re: Remus and Whooopeee!
I've just added the Remus backend (can) and love the difference. Headers on the way and CAT to be ditched soon. Hope it results in an overall +ve. Don't know if it makes any difference in performance although I think things are smoother in the power delivery but what the fu#@ it feels better and ta...

Need help on a new seat.
I' sure this has been covered before. I have just south of 10K on my R in less than a year. Not a single problem and love the bike. Only concern is after an hour my butt is killing me. Any advice on seats. I'm interested in the solo Russell. Any opinions pro or con? Thanks for the help.

R1200R Front and Rear Brakes
I have a 2008. This is probably a dumb question but here goes. When I apply the front hand brake does ABS apply equal pressure to the front and rear?

Re: black deposit on rear wheel
This may also be a silly question but I am curious. I have an 08 R12R with ABS. When I use the front brakes does it apply equal pressure to the front and rear brakes? Should I also apply the rear brakes at the same time? Just a little confused?
Thanks for the info.
