Evening all

:D :D :D I just wanted to say that I had my first evening ride of the year. Beautiful. Absolutely fantastic. Let's hope it is a good biking year in the UK (I hope it is good year elsewhere too! :) )
That is all.

Those mirrors are gorgeous. I would love to have a set of them but I fear they will be megabucks. The K-series mirrors on my bike seem to work pretty well and are as clear as you could wish for. They also give a wider view like the cruisers. However you do have to do some knifework on the area near ...

:( :( Sorry to hear that John. I am not aware of any particular design problems but I have come close to doing what you did. I do think it is an issue of kicking the stand full forward. There but for the grace of God. At least you did not have a Suzuki GSX750 on its side stand, fire it up in gear an...

OK; I don't wish to exaggerate this; the bike is not "vibrating" as in "juddering". There is always a constant tingle in the toes and the mirrors will always identify vehicles. However, the image is always blurred. John. You need to limit yourself to half a bottle of wine before...

I have always used basic unleaded on my R1100R and R1150R without any problems at all. Unless I am mistaken the GS uses the same and they are ridden all over the place (Long Way Round etc etc) and presumably use whatever fuel they can get hold of. Of course I could be naive... again.

In addition I am interested in hearing how/if these work when you use earplugs. I always use plugs unless I travelling very locally at slowish speeds. The time when I need satnav is exactly when I would use ear plugs and I don't want to have to keep looking down at a screen.

I have a Schuberth and while it has some nice features I have been very disappointed with its noise levels bearing in mind it is supposed to be the quietest around. I have to say I didn't notice much difference from my Shoei. Still need to wear earplugs on any longish journey where speeds are above ...

Have run in the Z6s now. They make an amazing difference. Very pleased indeed, cornering is so much more effortless. Thanks for the advice.

Errm not sure. Love the idea of reduced weight and a bit of extra power. However, I think Iwould have to invest in a fender extenda pretty smartish. More worryingly I had a steering damper on my old R1100R and it was one of the reasons I got rid of it. I hated the slow speed steering.

Chris

Many thanks. I have done what I should have done in the first place and checked the Metzeler web site. It still has pics of the Z4 and there is tread right across the tyre.. whoops. Will get them replaced this week. Will get Z6s. Are you still pleased with yours?

 Why is always me that asks the stupid questions. There was a mention of no tread across the centre in this thread. My elderly Z4s - second hand bike - still seem to have quite a bit of tread on them but there is no tread on the centre. I can't recall there ever being any. Is this just optimis...
