Re: Handle bar problem

I am considering selling my r1150r and buying either a valkryie or a 1500 vulcan. I herniated a disc in my back and I really need something that I can put a back rest on. Why did you sell those bikes?

Re: Wunderlich Touring bar question

I had the touring bars and took them off and sold them as I am planning on selling my 2004 R1150R bike. There are several posts that you can find in the archives to help to change them. The biggest mistake I made was in not being careful enough in taking off my heated handgrips and had to replace on...

No. I had the laydown 3 years ago right after I got the bike and just got the bags.
I was going to run by the dealer with the bag on, but yesteday was the OU Texas football game (my school,OU, won) and that took precedence.

bent left rear foot peg bracket?

I finally got around to getting a used set of luggage for my 2004 r1150r. The right side is real snug but the left side is loose. It appears that the bracket is not straight up and down ie. bent so it does not go into the slot on the bag completely. I had a minor lay down but it hit the valve cover ...

right hand heated grip replacement

I recently heniated a disc in my back and I am going to have to sell my r1150r. I am going to take it back to stock before I do. Last year when I put on a touring bar I screwed up the right hand heated grip when I pulled the wires back through the bar. I did not find out till I had the new bar on an...

I was seriously thinking about a vstrom before I bought the r1150r. I did not get to ride a 1000 but rode a 650.
I have had some second thoughts about the decision. Your comments helped me.

I built one of these when I had my vstar 1100 and it worked quite well until I let the plastic hose drop on the hot exhaust pipe. I used 2 cycle motor cycle oil for fluid. I got a yard stick from the hardware store and 5/16th OD plastic tubing that was 3/16th ID. At the local O'reilys auto store got...

I am 53 and got back to riding when I was 50. I graduated high school in 1971 from one of the public schools on the south side of OKC, but I had attended 9 years of catholic schools. Catholics are in the minority here in the belt buckle of the bible belt and that made me used to being different and ...

sargeant seat fabric

I am getting ready to order a sargeant seat. There are two kinds of fabric- griptex and carbonFX.
Any opinions.
you can get a single for $369.
Any opinions on the extra colors -- does it make the bike go faster?

be sure you are sticking the screwdriver in the right slot. I had trouble with one of them but eventually got it out. One other piece of advice when pulling the wires back through the bars. Be careful not to pull too hard or you will pull the wires out loose from the grips. I had to buy a new left g...

Rocko I have some of these for sale. I just took them off. I had them on for just a couple of months, but they conflict with the touring bars I just put on. They worked great. I have the original box and instructions. The only thing I lack is the extra strong velcro strip that attached to the tank. ...

correct angle for brake and clutch reservoirs

Ok. I got the new wunderlich bars bolted on and the heater lines fed throught the bars but I am not sure what the correct angle for the clutch and brake reservoirs on the bar should be. Can you use the bubbles as a guide somehow? I have tried to look at several pictures of other bikes to get it clos...

Beemerphile I sent you this email message if you check here first I should have called you earlier. I ended up pulling the cable apart that went to the left heated hand grip. Got a new one and have started going back together. It appears that with the headlight off I could move the cables to the out...
